The mound of dirt called Punso

In our folklore, a mound of dirt called Punso is the home of the dwarf, elf, troll or whatever you call the little old guy. The Punso is always to be blamed when someone gets sick or figures in an accident. That is why people do not disturb the Punso for they might feel the wrath of the resident.
Science also tells me not to disturb the mound for the residents there might move to our home and eat our house.

@LadyDuck since I had discovered the termites when we moved in our home in 2001, we were always aware. There were foiled attacks but sometime in 2012 or 2013, the ceiling of our garage was hit. We replaced one plywood panel but we had to cleanse the house for there might be some stragglers.

The roots are coming from the branches, they hang and plant themselves on the ground.

@DianneN it is the local Ficus that we call Balete. It can grow to a good height with so many hanging roots.

In our culture, we just leave that alone. But scientifically, they should be removed.

@lgm92881719 sometimes people need to hire workers to remove that. They pay higher.

Maybe the house owner did just that because it was small when I first saw it.
