Went To The Park Earlier.

Hey there, everyone. I'm planning to post my usual writing challenges, but I also want to post something besides the challenges as well. My best friend's son had a half-day at school today (and they're closed for the next two weeks), so we picked him up, since we live near his school. At some point, I took him and my 10yr old niece to the park. I wanted to give my 16yr old niece (who was babysitting him) a break. She hasn't been sleeping well, so at least then she could relax for a bit. Plus, it was warm out, so I thought I'd get them out of the house for a while. When we got to the park, I had the kids find a piece of grass, leaf, rock and stick, and eventually a tree, as well as point out a bird and squirrel. No reason, just felt like giving them something to do, and they seemed to enjoy it. They also played for a bit, with each other and the hula hoop. Oh, and we took a walk on the path, enjoyed the view from the hill and snapped a few pictures. I kept them over at the park for about an hour, and then I bought them back home so they could rest and enjoy a snack. We literally live across the street from the park, so it was a pretty short walk lol. Anyways, shortly after getting home, the Little Guy's Grandpa called to let me know he was on his way to pick him up, so I just put his chips in a snack bag to take home. We waited outside for his Grandpa, since it was still warm. And now here I am. I'm about to work on a long order via Fiverr, along with a few Textbroker orders, while waiting for my shows. I'll be working off and on during WWE Smackdown, but I may not do as much during Blue Bloods (but that's several hours away). Anyways, I'm a little behind on things, but it was worth it to get the kiddos outside for a bit. And yes, we washed our hands when we got home. I would've made them anyways, since they were handling sticks, rocks, leaves, etc. Alrighty, I'll be back shortly. Take care, everyone! Sounds like a good day, except that school is postponed. Locally, only the University of Hawaii is going virtual with classes and maybe even graduation. So far nothing about pre - high schools yet. Many cancelled festivities like St. Pactick's day block party, Merrie Monarch festival is cancelled, all University of Hawaii postponed indefinitely. 2 confirmed with corona virus...one is recovering and the other is in serious condition. Lots of people in the hospitality jobs are being laid off too. It's a very sad situation indeed, so uprooting everything! I hope the medical people find the antidote and cure for corona virus!

@oahuwriter Our weather has been back and forth. Yeah, all non-essential businesses are closed, and we're not going out unless we have to. I hope it ends soon too. :(

Yeah, I know a lot of things are closed or shut down. If the park had been crowded, we wouldn't have gone, as we need to be safe. It is a sad situation, and overwhelming because it's everywhere you turn (and understandably so).

@tammys85 It's the same locally too. We had a bout of very rainy weather, that will end tomorrow afternoon as weather reports this evening. Retail is open certain hours too. Hoping the pandemic ends very soon.

@tammys85 The park idea sounds like a good break. Were there a lot of people out? Thanks for having time to come and chat with us here too.

It was, but we haven't been back since Friday and probably won't be back too soon. No more than usual. It's never really crowded unless there's an event going on. And you're welcome! :)

@Hannihar Thank you so much. I'm hoping to go over the weekend, but I don't know. I went to the store today to pick up an essential item, so I won't need to go back to the store anytime soon. I can't wait until this is over, but unfortunately, I think it's going to take some time.

Sounds like you had a very fun and productive day! Smackdown just wasn’t the same last night! No fans it was weirdly just plain and like watching them workout. Glad the kiddos like the scavenger game. Nowadays with some kids who are addicted to electronics it’s hard to get one out of the house! My niece had to literally drag her kids outside at age 5 and 3 and take their tablets away.

Thank you! They love going outside to the park, and that's going to be our escape for a while, as long as we practice social distancing. And Smackdown wasn't the same, but I understand why it needed to be done that way.

Thanks! I'm being very careful, but I don't need to barricade us. People at the park are usually at a safe distance anyways. Plus it was warm today, and the temperature is gonna drop a bit tomorrow.

We weren't close to anyone (social distancing), nor was it crowded, as it's a big park. It's good to go out and get some fresh air. I'm careful.

@amitkokiladitya Trust me, I would never put myself or my loved ones at risk. I live close enough to where I can see the park from my house, enough to know if it's already crowded. We haven't been back in days and I don't know when/if we're going back for now.

How come the letters in the photo appear backwards? Am I having a brain fart?
