I'm on Vacation

Now, that's hard to do when you're retired, since every day feels like a vacation day. However, with the Coronavirus, everything is shutting down.
The ADRC is closed until April 30th. So, no more rock painting until May. I checked the YWCA site, and they only have the daycare open through Wednesday. I expect that it will be the last day to swim for a couple of weeks.
I'm expecting an announcement on FB about church.
I also got a notice from the office about visitors and the heightened cleaning the staff will be doing to keep everything as sanitary as possible in the common areas of the buildings. I'm glad they're on top of it. The notice also said if we have friends returning from overseas they aren't allowed here until they've been self-quarantined for a couple of weeks and are symptom-free. Also if we're sick, we're not allowed to associate with anyone here until we've been symptom-free for two weeks. It might seem crazy, but I'm glad I live in a place that takes care of its residents. They also attached a sheet from the CDC about the virus and what to expect and the symptoms of the virus.
So, except for groceries, which I won't need until I run out of bananas again, and doing laundry at my son's, I won't be going anywhere. I'm on vacation.
How is everything where you are? Thanks for reading. Picture of when I was on vacation a couple of years ago, October 2017, Washington Island, Wisconsin. The cabin where my friend and I stayed for three days.

That cabin looks awesome. I am sure you had a great time there. I would love it. Glad to hear your apartment complex seems to be on top of things. That WOULD give most people at least some sense of security. Enjoy your vacation and hope this all blows over soon so we can all get back to our regular lives.

@just4him Yeah. That IS the one thing. Putting yourself on lockdown because you want to is one thing. Being forced to do it is entirely another. I will be glad when everything returns to normal as well. Soon. Hopefully soon. I think we are almost there.

All of our schools are closed. Supermarkets are open, but there aren't many things left to buy. Restaurants and cafes are closed, there are a few places where it is possible to buy take-away, but that is all.

@just4him We went to the grocery store today. We wanted to buy some food while there is still some left. We managed to find some kinds of food, but there were many empty shelves.

That cabin looks like a nice peaceful place.
It's pretty much the same all over I think. We'll all be housebound for awhile until things get better.
I'm sure you'll miss your rock painting and swimming but knowing you you'll be busy at home anyway.

This virus has really did a lot of damage. That makes that they could have been in contact with someone that tested positive so they have to be in isolation until they know they are ok. It is precautions that have to be taken. I was at the bank yesterday and it was locked and a guard would open it when someone could come in and only one at a time could come in. It is very hard for people, but, I look at it it is better to be safe than sorry. This is very hard. I really do not want to go out but at times have to and like to try and get things done on one day. I like the picture of the cabin.

The cabin looks lovely. Yes, many places here are shut down like the Y and Community Centers, even some libraries in the area. My daughter had to be out of her house, so she is coming here. Hopefully the weather is nice and we can just do outdoor stuff with the kids as the big zoo is closed and many other things. This is our official Spring Break but I will not be surprised if we shut down for another week.

It's our spring break too. The kids are off until April 6, I think as that's when the Y will open again.
I'm glad your daughter and son can come by you for spring break.

Well you have your writing to keep you busy. It's too bad your activities are closed down though. At least you will save gas money.

Yes, I'll save gas. The Y closes on Friday night for two weeks so I can still swim until then.

Now you'll have time to do the things you really want to do or need to do and you can work on your writing. I am going to go out toward the end of the week to see what is going on in this resort town and what people are doing.

Take a good care of yourself. Things are a bit dull and not happening but then it is better to mix up in the crowded places.

For the time being it is best to avoid seeing other people. It is getting crazy here by the hour. The shops are devoid of essentials something we only ever saw in the days of the cold war in Russia. People are being selfish beyond belief.
Keep well and stay well!

We got the same kind of papers from our office.. they have to send those out.. doesn't mean they're actually keeping up with cleaning and such. Though I do hope they are. Obviously.
