Just turn off your tv and other things that pop into my head while I'm writing this

The tv has been on in the house all day and I can't help but want to get away from it. The news keeps repeating the same things. I realize that we need to be aware of what's going on with the virus, but I feel like all the national news organizations are doing is causing more stress and panic.
I hope more people will turn the news off as they are forced to stay at home. Open a book, watch a movie, or catch up on your favorite television show. Be aware, but also be aware that too much information isn't a good thing.
Are you tired of hearing about the corona virus?

I've been doing more writing, and while my writing personality is something I've decided to keep separate from mylot (except for my dream writings), I have to say that I am happy that I'm putting fingers to keyboard again.
---
Facebook has been recommending crochet projects to me since I've talked a little about it with a few people here on mylot lately. I really wish I was better at needlecraft, but I know it's not my strong suit so I'm happy just watching others create.

The news media talking about the health crisis is so bad that I have to watch classic cartoons or classic television since negative reporting does take a toll on me.

It got so bad here yesterday that one of my relatives started arguing with the television. That was when it was time to turn the channel. We should be informed, but it seems all the media wants to do is keep us panicked.

That's a good idea! With everything going on, it almost made me forget Supernatural tonight. I'm watching it now, then I'm going to work on my novel.

We all have to step back every once in awhile. Enjoy SPN. Never have gotten into that show, though I devoured Buffy, part of Angel and almost all of Vampire Diaries.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Thank you, I have watched it for 15 years. I used to watch Buffy and Angel, been a long time since I seen them, and I don't think I finished Angel. Never seen any of the Vampire Diaries.

@indiandevil I think I watched maybe a season of Angel. I liked.. I can't even remember his name, the demon guy. I used to have a few buffy soundtracks and even the Ghost Of A Robot Album from James Marsden.
I had a kick a few years ago of watching paranormal type shows. I watched Vampire Diaries, a little bit of The Originals, and two other shows I can't think of the name of at the moment.. Oh True Blood and anohter show that was about a woman ghost and a human man. There were two different versions, but I watched the US version..
Sorry for rambling.

I'm definitely tired of it. It becomes overwhelming, especially with all of the changes happening at once (I understand and agree with them, but it still gets to be too much). Plus, seeing people who couldn't care less if they possibly infect others, that's becoming too much too.
I need to keep up to know what's going on, but I also need a break. I'm thinking of not being on social media as much, and throwing myself into my work. I should do that anyway, but you know what I mean.
I sort of took a break today. I watched The Golden Girls and WWE Raw, and tweeted with a favorite celebrity, but the virus was still mentioned (except The Golden Girls). My brain needs a break.

Yes. I've heard some specialist on the networks say that our mental health is something we need to take care of during this time, but how can we do that when all we hear about is the Corona Virus?

@ScribbledAdNauseum Exactly. I'm going to be watching a lot of streaming and YouTube, and not reading the trends on social media. My sister told me if I needed to know anything, to write one of them (my siblings). As I told @Deepizzaguy above, there was so much coming from every angle, I was overwhelmed and just done.

I try to only watch the news once a day to keep informed.

The news is on throughout the day here. If i want to get away from it I have to mute it (if noone else is in the room) or go to my bedroom.

I'm not tired of hearing about it, because it is important to know. However, I am tired of hearing all the stupid people doing stupid things and really hope that people stop doing stupid things so we can stop hearing about the virus soon.

It would be different if they'd say something different, but each day it seems to be the same thing. Sure there is one or two added things each day, but even it gets repeated after awhile.
Like, how many times do we need to be told that schools are closing across the country, and that restaurants are doing the same?

@DesirousDreamer This is a historic moment, that's for sure. I just wonder what we will think of this moment in the future, and what future generations will think of it. The government finally seems to be handling it the way they should have been all along.. Ya know what, I'm not going to get into the politics of it.
I was talking to a waitress today and I agree with her. I can't wait until this is behind us.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Because some people are not aware or some people need a reminder or it is just the news and that is what they do with literally any massive story they cover. I mean, they can try to cover other stories but this is a big thing and it is their fault of making things get out of hand but also it probably just doesn't feel right to cover other stories in length because this is such a historic moment. Plus...it gets them views and money.

There's nothing to be bored or getting tired of hearing news about Coronavirus. We need to be updated about it.

Take into consideration that the way the Philippines is handling the news on the virus, and the way the US is handling it may be different. It is all we hear about day in and day out when we turn on the news. It can be very stressing after awhile.
As Tammy said, it can be overwhelming after awhile.

The President was speaking, and I listened to part of it but I had to just leave the room. I am going to read a book today, maybe watch a movie and stay away from social media for the most part.

I'm sick of it too. Although I haven't been watching the news. I have been researching some stuff to get on Amazon and been listening to my book.

Apparently, amazon is going to be restricting what they will send to people, so you may want to make sure it will be something they'll deliver.
What book are you listening to at the moment? do you use chirp?

I'm SO sick of hearing about it. I had played music loud on my phone the ither day when walking to and from the stores - as well as through the stores - so i could try to block it all out both eye view by shelves and hearing

I don't blame you. All this talk about it is causing more hysteria and worry than is necessary. The virus is serious, but we shouldn't have it in our faces everywhere we go.

I usually have CNN on in the background these days. I like to keep up with what's going on. The election was cancelled in Ohio for today.

I saw that it was cancelled. Illinois, Arizona and Kentucky went ahead and voted though.
