The Trump administration announced today the president's call for immediate relief to the American people and small businesses, and key areas of the economy affected by the Coronavirus outbreak.
This package intends to pour $1 trillion into the U.S. economy.
The package includes one time payments to all Americans, BUT the Trump administration was quick to point out that the checks American's may receive WILL NOT INCLUDE MILLIONAIRES.
The package also aims to assist businesses in the airline industry, hotels and resorts, and small business operators such as restaurants and bars. The main focus is on EMPLOYEES.

Wait a minute. How would they know that you are not a millionaire? It is not easy to check all the people in America, one by one. Here there is a planned financial support for the indigents. But how would they classify indigents? I am jobless, am I an indigent?

@porwest oh I see, there is a way to identify all of you. But here, I cannot say the same. There are so many without records in the government which means they are not paying taxes at all. But in calamity times like this, they are the first to get the benefits from the government.

Well that is good to hear, and good that they won't include millionaires, but focus on employees who can't work during this madness.

@MommyOfEli2013 The plan apparently calls for $1000 per adult and $500 per child which could be rolled out in the next three weeks IF the bill can be passed. IF the president is still holding the declaration of a state of emergency six weeks following the first payments, payments will be made a second time.

@JudyEv That's just it. There is only so much that CAN be done. This is just one thing, and I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing. The ONLY bad thing about it is that eventually we will all pay it back in one form or another through more taxes.

@Courtlynn It has. Trump has done many things to combat this and deal with it. But the lamestream media doesn't want to report it.

No. They don't. And Trump understands this. That's why I felt it was important to emphasize this is NOT a stimulus for millionaires and billionaires. This is a stimulus for very important small business owners and the American people. I am always aware that many people will be quick to misconstrue facts around here.

@LindaOHio Yep. There's that. And we're not broke. My PORTFOLIO is a little bit broken right now for sure. But we've done well enough in other ways to weather it. I am actually glad that about a year ago I started the process of doing some rebalancing and put a lot of money into cash. I did it for no particular reason, but I am glad I did.

It is. I mean, it's a shame we have to consider it. But SOMETHING has to be done, and look. It's the GOVERNMENT making these decisions to close everything down and put people temporarily out of work, so even though it is OUR money they are essentially providing, I think they have to do something.

Yeah. For whatever it is worth it is simply the government's way of saying, "Hey, this is no one's fault. We are going to suffer a bit as is just the nature of this sort of thing. But anything that can be done to provide at least SOME help is offered." Really, it's a bit of a farsical thing any time the government sends you money. Since all money from the money is derived from taxpayers, the government is essentially giving you your own money back. But getting SOMETHING back is nice, even if we will essentially also wind up just PAYING it back in FUTURE taxes.
It's a real conundrum.
