Earlier today, a new Doctor came to us, visiting us. He didn’t start with his name, or maybe he was but I didn’t heard it. He said that my Nephrology Doctor is not agree anymore of me being operated for Peritoneal Dialysis, for it is too risky for me anymore especially with this outbreak coming. There are no ICU available if in case something will happen to me during the operation, plus the advantage of the virus and infection. Meaning, they all want all patient with low immune system to go home.
But the thing is, we already bought everything that’s needed for the operation, plus we already spend days and weeks here, and the fact that I don’t want to travel anymore for my Dialysis, there is no way to back out.
But thinking about it’s too risky for me when they already did the clearances and the checking, why doubtful now?
Now, please enlighten me this.
Thanks.

I think that the doctor might have changed his opinion because the corona situation is more serious now than it was when they approved your operation. In my country lots of operations have been postponed. In the beginning when there were relatively few Corona patients they didn't postpone operations, but things are different now. I guess that doctors in your country have also become more careful than before, but you could still try to get a second opinion.

the virus seems to affect those people with low immunity so having a disease means you are already immuno-compromised. No one did foresee the effect of the virus will be this big. If my husband had not been operated before all this, the doctor might have cancelled also his operation. My husband has a check up on Friday but the surgeon tell us not to go
Maybe you should ask another doctor for another opinion.
