The Beginning of the End Is Near

Call it a hunch. Call it a sense. Call it whatever you want. I talk to a lot of people in my line of work in sales. I have a lot of interaction. And I just get the sense that people are becoming fatigued by this whole Coronavirus thing.
Things I hear? I am sick of the hoarding. I am sick of the madness. I am sick of the news.
People have been so saturated with Coronavirus at this point that I think the entire thing is starting to wear on people. Even the people who have hoarded all they can from food to produce to toilet paper and disinfectants I think are now starting to experience something akin to a hangover.
They have overindulged. They have taken in too much. And now it is the morning after and they are feeling like maybe they overdid it, and it is wearing on them.
That, in my opinion, is the beginning of the end. We may still get some more discerning news about Coronavirus, but treatments are starting to come around, death tolls are starting to waver, and with summer near it may just kill the whole thing.
The news will begin to have less impact on people's minds and people's fears. Especially as they start to process the thought that few people they know around them are getting sick, THEY are not getting sick, and they are not having to carve out their time to schedule funerals.
I have no scientific data to prove any of that. It's just like I said. A sense. A hunch. But I think I am right.
I hope I am right.

I think we still need to be cautious and keep it from spreading. Yes it's scary and wearing on everyones nerves. Since we've never encountered anything like this (ever) it's hard to have a course of action. Me, I'm staying in and not going anywhere. I'm in the older category and not taking any chances.
I sincerely hope that the warm humid weather kills the virus and life can go back to normal (or the new normal).
I agree that panic buying is causing a lot of fear. Our full grocery shelves give us security and it's unsettling to find the shelves almost bare in some sections of the stores.
I just hope and pray that we don't spread the virus and that the precautions keep us safe.

@porwest very true. I've felt that way myself about a few things and bought extra but now that things like milk and bread are scarce it's causing more anxiety (for everyone). You might laugh but I stocked up on dog food when this all started happening

That is part of this. When people walk into stores and see empty shelves and see people scrambling to get whatever they can, it gives them not only an anxious feeling about the whole thing, it gives them a false sense of urgency. For example, MAYBE they are not buying into the panic per se. BUT, they wonder if I DON'T buy X now, will I be able to get it if I need it later?

I hate to say it, but every day there are more residents testing positive in our city for the virus.
Tuesday it was 2 and Wednesday it was 7, so it isn't slowing down any whatsoever.
As a result of the increased cases in our city, the items that are selling out are no longer what they were a few days ago. Today it is bread, milk, eggs, meat and boxed cereal. I suppose that people forgot that they cannot eat all of that toilet paper. And for those of us who have to go out, at least our gas prices are down a lot.

@Marilynda1225 On the tv, on the internet speaking with other people, its too much. Our brains can only absorb so much covid talk.

I think it's going to get worse before it gets better but I'm seeing the same thing here...stores are showing signs of things disappearing like bread, milk and boxed cereals. I tried to get cereal this week and there was little to choose from.
We're taking precautions but it is wearing on my nerves when there's nothing on tv but virus, virus and virus.

I think there is only so much our minds can absorb. I am not sure if it is a good thing for the precautions to slow down just yet, but it is a good idea for the panic buying to stop. The stores need a chance to catch up. When people start seeing more on the shelves they will feel a little relief.

The virus is up 50% overnight in Wisconsin with two cases in Brown County.
They say it always gets worse before it gets better. Let's hope the end is in sight. I saw a couple of feeds come across my computer that they are working with a vaccine that supposedly works. We'll see.

One thing the media is NOT reporting here, and I think this is EXTREMELY important to note. The question is; IS there an actual increase in new cases? OR are we just now AWARE of more cases now that test kits are readily available and more people are actually being tested?
I think the best answer is I do not know.
BUT, I do think that with the higher availability of test kits and more people tested, more people are able to be confirmed, and that is going to inflate the numbers a bit. The news media, I think, NEEDS to add that disclaimer to every report of any heightened number of identified cases.
"It should be pointed out that some of these newly reported cases may be being identified due to the higher availability of test kits for doctors to CONFIRM symptoms are ACTUALLY due to Coronavirus."

Saturation is a good word. It's just like things in the markets. We use a term all the time, "pricing in." There is a certain point when even economical calamity or even something positive in a sector, individual share price, or in the markets overall becomes saturated, or "priced in." It is at that point that one can better determine a bottom and no longer factor in additional declines or upswings even.

@MommyOfEli2013 Some people just want to believe that the sky really is falling. I am seeing a LOT of positives in this. I may write about it actually. But I have to find a way to make it short and sweet otherwise no one will read it. lol

@porwest I have seen comments saying that it is nowhere near the end....but I am hoping that you are more correct. Getting back to normal life would be great....this crap is getting old!

I too hope you're right and may well be onto something. I have a feeling this pandemic may just disappear as suddenly as it appeared. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part because quite frankly, I'm sick of Coronavirus. But at least it gives me hope.

I hope you are right; but I think you are wrong. Just my opinion. There are a lot more people that are going to get sick before this situation gets better. There is a person right in our town that has the virus...Now it strikes home! The hoarders are still out there emptying the shelves. Is everyone already tired of this virus thing? Absolutely. Are we "out of the woods" yet? No. Stay safe and healthy.

Panic and hoarding at this moment are somewhat over. I hope that you are right, this whole thing might be killed this summer.

I guess if I really think about it the earthquake yesterday was a blessing. It took over the local news here and the aftershocks happened all day. No one here was talking about anything else. At least for 12 hours no one here even gave it a second thought.
