Corona scams

Some Danes have decided to take advantage of the current situation. They have been sending emails and text messages to people. The message looks like an offical Corona message from the authories and people are asked to click on link and log in order to read "important health information" They have to use their digital ID, and if they log in via the fake site the scammers get their information. Once the scammers have access to the digital ID, they pretend to be that person, and they are able to borrow money online etc. Unfortunately some people already logged in via the fake site, but now they are trying to warn people via the news. Have you experienced any corona scams?

Oh my goodness, I hate those who profit of this kind of situation to scam the most vulnerable. Nothing to report here.

@LadyDuck I don't think that we that have had that kind of scams here. There are online corona scams, but I haven't heard of people who knock on doors and pretend to be doctors.

@Porcospino In Italy I have read that some (dressed like doctors) ring at the doors saying that they have to take a tampon and they must pay €100 for the service.

@Porcospino Metro Manila is in complete lockdown. I know that foreigners were given a number of hours to board a flight and leave the country. I'm fine all things considered. I worry for my loved ones.

@allen0187 Many Danish are stuck in other countries. My country will try to help them, but it is getting harder. There are still many Danes in the Philippines and some of them are not close to Manila. I hope that your loved ones will be okay. I am worried about my mother, but she is alone in her house, so hopefully she is safe.

I just heard that the Danish authories are going to send a plane to Manila to pick up the Danes who are still there, but they are worried that some of the Danes who are staying far from Manila will find it hard to travel from other parts of the Philippines to Manila. How are you doing? I hope that you are well despite all of the things that are going on at the moment.

I haven't, but I expect everything. People are very creative around here, way more creative than in other places. In fact, there are many Romanian citizens who make many type of scams and crimes in the whole Europe. We seem them on the news all the time.

I met some scammers when I was travelling around in Romania. Some of them tried to sell me a necklace made of "real gold" but it was just a cheap necklace, definitely not gold. I don't buy things from people who approach me in the street, so I wouldn't have been interested anyway.

@Porcospino I hate these people, who approach you on street. You cannot get rid of them and if you are alone, they can be aggressive, too.
