One flu over the cuckoo, Oh my aching back!?

My house has been crazy for the last two weeks. I've been seeing the news and reading the headlines but you know how people have picked up the phrase, "we're in this together" when referring to the COVID-19? Well, I've been one leg behind hoping when I get caught up with everyone else I'll be ready to hunker down anti-social style that I am. I keep looking over my shoulder and it keeps getting closer. But the more I run I just end up chasing my tail. It started almost Two weeks ago on a Tuesday. The exact day the COVID-19 made landfall in America, California, likes six states away. I was planning my anniversary, working, the usual. stuff. When I receive a phone call from my eldest's son letting me know he had scheduled his surgery for next week. Alright, cool me and hubby go out Saturday and Sunday. Then Tuesday I'm free to keep him comfy. The virus is still six states away. When my other son came in from work sneezing I thought "OMG, Trump is the president so there is no telling where this virus made it".Thank goodness I was wrong he just had the good old fashion flu. Ok, here's the score one kid prepping for surgery, one sharing his flu symptoms minimally with grandson and wife, and one daughter safely at college. Yeah, she is just not being any help at all yet. We were going to pick her up for her spring break on our way home from the anniversary date. Thursday before the anniversary date I'm woken plastered to a burning up, sweating, shivering husband. Crap! Okay, I went through the ice storm of 09. I know what it's like to go without electricity and be cut off for weeks. So when I saw the news and the toilet paper frenzy started, I just chuckled. I had once gone on strike with the electric company for eight months and lived perfectly comfortable. This was gonna be a cakewalk. By the time we were able to go out for our anniversary, we had settled on a night excursion to the casino. Where my luck was picking up. I went in with fifty$ and walked out with three hundred and fifty. And it had been twenty-four hours since my husband's fever was gone. By the time we left the casino, we were both hungry and our daughter was packed and ready. So we grabbed her and stopped at a huddle house. "The food would taste so much better if I could breathe through my nose"', I thought. As they rolled my son out of surgery my husband called me from the hospital to let me know he was doing good. How many of you mom's out there have had an emotional reaction while nursing the flu? It's not a pretty sight. I mean eyes and nose and everything. The only reason I'd need to be near a hospital bed would be to be in it. By the following Sunday, we needed to take my daughter back to school (this is why we are searching for her a car). On our way back home My phone rang. They had canceled the classroom and opted for online at her school. She works IT there at the school and they were still going to be working possibly even more due to higher digital use. This is me glancing over my shoulder. We get home and I go to switch the load of laundry I started before leaving and my stupid dang dryer hadn't gone round and round because the stupid belt broke. These were realtime emotions. Then my superman to the rescue showed up two days later with a "new to me", washer and dryer. Three hundred dollars for a set that was less than six months old. I'd happily give up my winnings. Then he was off again to look at a car for our daughter. Where did that man come from? I get a picture of the car to send her and she messages me back. The school is closing. No, IT, no dorms, online classes only. This means, not just go back up there and get her, but it was time to move her home. That's a lot of stuff. And we are in monsoon season here so it has rained every day for like a month. So this should be great. I have no idea how we did it but we packed all her stuff mini fridge and all in one car. It was close contact for the two-hour ride. But it's my hubby and kid social distancing is gonna have to wait. Last night we finished unpacking her and today she attended her first online class. Thank goodness the wifi held up. She and dad went to pick up her new car and got the insurance and tags. Tomorrow I plan on finally being able to get some provisions. But I was wanting to ask everyone. Is there anything left? Do I need to bother with a can of mixed veggies, a roll of paper towels and a pack of Doublemint gum?

See why I went a little cuckoo? . And I've lucked out and got done this morning. There wasn't much in the way of meat. But we will be happily eating macaroni and tomato, the potato any which way they are great, and eggs in any form. And I am left feeling blessed with this to eat.

It is true that some people mistake flu for Corona virus. I eat canned goods from time to time
