How Much Has This Coronavirus Pandemic Changed Your Life?

I thought since this coronavirus is spread all over the world, I'd better check in and see how everyone is. So far we are still healthy.
So far the coronavirus hasn't changed too much about my life. I do most work at home anyway and usually only go out for medical appointments, shopping, and Bible Study meetings. But now all meetings of any kind have been canceled, and I've canceled all doctor appointments. I'd prefer to stay far away from medical offices.
On Saturday, before we got the order to stay home, I went to Costco to stock up on things we were out of. Got most of what I wanted, but they were out of disinfectant wipes, ground beef, and Kleenex. I'm getting the Kleenex from Amazon on Subscribe and Save unless they run out. But they say they are shipping it.
I had planned to go Trader Joe's to get what Costco was out of, and wasn't prepared for what I didn't find there. Whole freezer cases were empty. I had needed eggs and they were completely gone, as well as many other dairy items. Nobody seems to have disinfectant wipes. I still have part of a package left, but I really need more. I'm hoping Amazon will get them in. I left Trader Joe's with two loaves of bread.
This morning my young neighbor across the street picked up some eggs, along with more bananas and avocados for us. But I really want to go to Smart and Final myself on Monday morning. Trying to decide if it's wise to go. My husband is 80 and I'm almost there. I would hate to catch anything and bring it home to him. I don't think the store would be too risky. It's the pharmacy at Walmart I want to stay away from. Someone from church picked up Hubby's prescription early this week and the lines were really long.
We have plenty of canned tuna and frozen salmon and lots of protein drinks. What I'm afraid we'll be short of if I can't get to the store is fresh produce, eggs, and frozen veggies. I'm good on eggs for another two weeks. I'm hoping things will calm down before then.
The number of people in my county who tested positive for the Coronavirus doubled in the last two days. There still are only a few, but if the cases still keep doubling, I probably won't go to the store. I should know more by Monday.
How has this virus changed your life? If you are supposed to stay home, what do you miss most? Do you know anyone who has contracted the virus? Are you afraid or pretty much at peace? I know my own safety is in God, and nothing can kill me while He still has a use for me here. But I'm going my best to keep up my immune system, get enough sleep, and stay healthy. The rest if up to God.

I live in Switzerland, but less than 5 miles from the Italian border, the situation is more than serious here.
I have the habit to stay inside and this is what I am doing, with my husband we go out only once a week to buy essential grocery. We are both fine for the moment.

@changjiangzhibin89 I stay pretty well stocked all the time because Costco is so far from my home. We get most vitamins and staples there. Since we never know how soon we will get back, we usually get enough of the essentials to last two months, which is why I had enough toilet paper from the last trip. We have enough Kleenex now unless someone gets sick. As far as shopping goes, there are people in my church who help with that to keep me from having to go to the stores or pharmacy. I made a big batch of soup yesterday to freeze. Better to eat from the freezer and make room for what I can make and freeze. We will be fine. If things last too long, I can always make bread. I just haven't done it in years because my husband went gluten free.

I"m not afraid. If it's my time to go, I'm ready. I just hope if we go, neither of us survives the other by much. I would hate to leave my husband to face it alone. We are doing everything possible to keep our immune systems strong. We don't normally get sick when things go around. But yes, we know this virus could affect us differently. We pray and trust, knowing God is faithful.

There have been two main changes for me personally. I can no longer go to the weekly meetings of the "Hinckley Scribblers" writing group because the Hinckley library, which hosts the meetings, has closed all their meeting rooms.
Another important interest of mine has been organizing the volunteer rota at my local village library, and manning the desk myself at least once a week. However, we have now been told that the library must close.
My wife is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of all the publicly funded schools in Leicester, all of which will be shutting up shop as from today. Her workload has therefore gone through the roof - I don't expect to see much her over the weekend!

@JudyEv I hope Amazon gets the wipes back in stock soon. Two people have tried to pick them up for me, but couldn't find them and brought me antibacterial wipes that don't kill viruses or Pledge furniture wipes, just to bring something. I would not have bought them myself. I can make use of them, but they don't replace the wipes I need. I'm afraid to put it on my pick-up list when someone shops for me because I never know what they will get instead.

You're in my prayers, too, Judy. I can't believe how some people have been stockpiling essentials to list on Amazon and hike the prices. Amazon has gotten rid of any they spot, but meanwhile their own supplies have been depleted for those of us who are trying to buy things like disinfectant wipes. I'm glad you are OK.

It is mainly inconvenience of the insanity at the grocery store as being a retired homebody, it is the norm for me to stay at homes days on end. But nobody likes being "imprisoned" and wondering what is truth and what is false.

I actually like having not to leave the house for meetings so often and having a good excuse to stay out of doctors' offices. Unfortunately my driver's license expires near the end of next month and I have to go in person this year. I'm scheduled for minor skin cancer removal in my dermatologist's office on April 22, and I'm thinking I should postpone that until after I renew my driver's license. I don't want to take the vision test with a bandaged nose -- if, indeed, they leave much of my nose intact. I've had cancer removed from my nose a few years ago, but evidently it's coming back. I'm not looking forward to it.
I'm not so worried that someone is lying to me, but I do think there's a lot that's still not known. I subscribe to the Epoc Times, and the writers are much closer to the Chinese situation. They say there's a lot of disinformation coming from from the CCP. I pray for our leaders and the ones who are doing medical research. It appears there is some hope on the horizon. Maybe if we stay hunkered down for a bit they will come up with effective treatments by the time our isolation measures end.

We have been doing the same. My husband still has relatives in Serbia. One of them is a a photographer with the newspapers. I also have a high school friend who married a Serbian woman and has lived in Belgrad for a few years now. So far they are OK and don't seem worried.

@Moon24 Do you know how many active cases there are now? How many deaths? Are you in Belgrad or somewhere else? I imagine we are safer staying in than going out, as long as we don't have visitors and can stay out of doctors' offices.

I am moving from teaching voice in person to teaching online at least for a while. I am afraid that we are at the infancy of this pandemic still, so trying to make sure that my income doesn't dry up totally. But otherwise staying well. I hope you are too. Stay safe.

It hasnt changed ours too much. Seen a couple of things canceled that we might have went too. Have a local guy that we get eggs from and I got lucky. I went shopping the day before the heavy panic buying started here.

I went to Costco a couple of days before they told us to stay home. But people had already cleaned out all the TP, Kleenex, and disinfectant wipes. Fortunately the bulk package of TP I'd bought on my last trip still was not open, so I'm good. Costco is a major trip for us, so we try to get a month's supply everytime we go, and more of things like vitamins and food supplements and such. We often buy more of what we like than we need just because they usually stop carrying most of the snacks we like and we're never sure if they will have them next time. At least they had some of my favorite chocolate this time.

@bagarad I went shopping about 10 days ago. One store had plenty of tp. Glad I got it there as Walmart was sold out almost. Heard the next day people were emptying the food shelves too. I will be going again this Thursday.

The only thing I miss is going to church, but I did watch the service online yesterday. I work from home so that hasn't changed. Our county has three conformed cases and no deaths. I don't anyone who has it.

I talked to my doctor and I have to take my temperature everyday before I go out. So far ok, but, others outside do not seem to care. I had to go out yesterday and I felt there were a lot of people out and not really obeying rules. I have chronic rhinitis so have to wear the mask now when go out. I hope I do not get it because I do not want to give it to my cat.

so far it has really changed our lives in two ways.
1. my wife is actually now home every day (her job normally involves going from house to house to help people deal with grief and loss).
2. the neighborhood we live in is a ghost town!
Hope all remains well on your side!!!!

I am very sorry. We wonder if we will lose ours, as well, if our tenants can't pay their rent. The government will be helping workers without jobs, but I don't know if it will do anything for landlords. I will have shopping help if I need it. We won't starve. We just may not have everything we are accustomed to, especially a good supply of fresh fruit. I've never tried online shopping for groceries. We aren't close to major distribution centers. We live in a small city.

The only thing in the way of the world's countries uniting is the human heart -- usually the hearts of their leaders. I'm sure the people would like nothing better than peace.
