Free as a Bird

And to think less than one week ago we were as free as a bird!
I was lucky enough to pet both of the parrots in my photo.
Now we are in a state of emergency.
Our older sister-in-law left Florida by car yesterday with a friend for Philadelphia and New York City.
My brother and his wife fly to New York Tuesday. They almost had to leave this morning due to not being able to reach the car transport service to ship their car home. Thank goodness they found one yesterday who will.
Hubs won’t let me leave the house other than to walk or ride my bike. He wouldn’t allow me to go to a board meeting with him last night, which was held outdoors near the pool and had chairs separated by 9 feet.
So, what’s a girl to do? I’m going to have a little dinner party for my brother and his wife tonight. I will also have one for them Monday evening, the night before they leave.
I’ve been reading book after book, reorganizing, and cleaning. I exercise and watch TV in the evening with hubs, talk to my family and friends via phone and texts. That’s how I’m spending these days. I’m content, but concerned.
What about you?

I'm glad your brother found a car transport company to ship the car home. It's going to be lonely for you when everyone leaves. I hope this confinement doesn't last too long.
At least you're keeping your mind active with the books you're reading. I'm doing the same with the ones I'm writing.

We are on lockdown here in California.
I have been eating a lot of snacks throughout the day now that I’m literally home 24/7
I have been cleaning a lot and organizing. Also, watching tv / movies.
Take care and be safe. Glad everything worked out for your brother and his wife.

@BelleStarr Hubs is going to Publix tomorrow, too.
We need fresh fruit, vegetables, and dairy products.
He won’t let me go, and I don’t want him to go.

I am staying at home as much as I can, but I have been out to the grocery store. And my husband and son have been going to work.

I am doing all the same that you mentioned. My friend who is the principal at Montessori school has sent me a few good books through courier. We could not meet again due to this sudden crisis. So for my hours of work, she asked if I need a money transfer or books. I opted for books.

LOVE the birds. We don't go out much anyway; so it's not so bad. We do miss going out to eat twice a month though. We will catch up when the restaurants open again.

@yoalldudes That is the best thing you can do for yourself!
Yes, it will be a long and scary journey.

@DianneN My imagination can take me to wherever I want. I will start drawing and coloring as well as writing maybe. But that is after getting to the grocery store to get what we need. This appears to be a long journey and not a quick one like we thought.

9 feet should be a safe distance .Did you wear a mask in the board meeting ? We lifted the isolation management in our city yesterday.

Went walking this morning along empty streets to the Walgreens and found that you have to stand on blue masking tape waiting at the cashier to distance yourself from others.
