Well, despite the fact I didn't get my oat milk and toilet rolls that I ordered for delivery last week, Adam and I took a trip to our local village Co-op shop and I at least got my oat milk. When we got home Adam popped round to our next door neighbour to make sure her family were OK and she kindly offered us a big pack of toilet rolls!
I'm so glad we've got a lovely friendly neighbourhood - we look out for each other.
It seems that most schools have closed indefinitely from today - Friday. My next door neighbour has two little monsters and she told me that within half an hour of her little girl getting home from school she said she was bored. Doesn't bode well for the next umpteen weeks!!!

Schools are closed in my country too. For the moment it is 2 weeks but I donĀ“t think they will be open for some time.

We've been told it's for the 'foreseeable future' so there's no telling when they'll go back.

@olliesmum We are in a moment of closing places more than in opening them.

@marguicha Same here. A lot of sporting events have been cancelled and theatres, cinemas, restaurants and bars have now been banned from opening.

Oat milk isnt milk. You can't milk an oat.

@olliesmum There is no way, an oat based drink tastes like milk. Lol

@thislittlepennyearns It's not perfect but the closest I can get to dairy (and I'm quite fussy). I just could no longer bear the thought of eating or abusing animals that had the same feelings and emotions as humans.

The label says it's oat DRINK but as it tastes like dairy milk everyone calls it milk. Same with soya.

You may want to check out the comment made by Eva James above. She says that if you give your bored kids some household chores to do they soon find something else to keep them occupied!!!

Glad you have a good neighborhood. I could solve that little girls boredom problem. Anytime my boys said that I gave them chores to do They learned to amuse themselves real fast

I'll suggest it to Helen (Isabella's mum)!!! I'm sure she'd like a bit of help around the house!!!

@olliesmum Vin and I were both brought up by very frugal parents too and we can get a meal out of very little. Some of the younger people have absolutely no idea how to get a cheap meal.

I must admit I think Adam and I are some of the luckier ones. We've had times when we've been very short of money so we can be very resourceful when it comes to slinging a meal together.

It's certainly very weird. Here in the UK I lived through a bread shortage, miners/power strikes when everyone lost electricity most of the day but we had power at breakfast time and late afternoon, and a petrol shortage but this is the most bizarre situation I've ever known.

Schools are closed in NYC too for now. Not sure for how long. In some places in the US schools are closed for the remainder of the year.

I must say I think we should have done it earlier. Here in the UK apparently workers in the health service, emergency services and food industry can still take their kids to school but other people have to make other arrangements.
