A Bit of Self Isolation Relief!

Norwich, England
March 21, 2020 7:23am CST
So I may not want to go too close to other humans - 6-8 ft has been recommended, but at least I can 'isolate' myself in my back garden. This morning is very windy but beautifully sunny so I nipped out to see what was happening in my flower beds and caught this beautiful little primrose peeping out from underneath a foxglove - which I hope will flower this summer. To the left of it you'll see one of my red primroses trying to get in on the act!

Good that you are re-united with your garden. :)

I'm so glad I'm not living in the centre of a city with nothing but concrete.

@olliesmum Yeah, actually that is our problem. As much as we want to, the landlord does not allow us to.

@bbghitte That's a shame. We did live live on the edge of a city for a few years but did at least have a small garden. However, neither Adam nor I were happy there so we found our current house which is on the edge of a village and overlooks a meadow, a small piece of woodland and a field which is normally put down to wheat.

I was brought up in a house in the country with a large garden and when Adam and I were looking to buy a property together back in the 1980s the one thing I stipulated to the estate agent was that it had to have a garden.

Nice to see! Actually, I wish I could visit and bring some tea. I have never been to England. It was my father's favorite country.

It's worth seeing. Most people come to see Buckingham Palace, Tower of London etc but our countryside is wonderful and far less stressful! I live in a National Park called the Norfolk Broads. It's very flat but we have huge manmade lakes which have been here for centuries and they're known as broads. It can be hectic during the summer months when we have people hiring boats but from about September through to May it's wonderfully peaceful.

Reminds me of a friend of Adam's. Whenever he comes over he always shouts above me when I'm speaking. Just has to be at the forefront of everything!!!

I think I'd go bonkers if I didn't have a garden. My dad was a botanist and I used to follow him around the garden and help him in his greenhouse when I was little. Sadly I don't have the same talents as him.

@olliesmum Sounds like a good place to isolate oneself if one likes gardens.

I´ll try to take care a bit of my plants while I´m on my self imposed quarantine. Nature does not hurt.
