What's different about the Covid-19 pandemic?

Yes there has been other viruses in the past the difference is the internet and how fast we can spread the word.

In the past there was no sophisticated equipment like now.

This virus is not even as bad as the flu but the world has let it get out of control and now it will effect the world like no other has up to this point.

In my country we went through 4 pandemic. The first real pandemic after our independence is SARS less contact more fatal, H1N1 was not a serious concern followed by MERS. MERS was also not a concern. Then now we have cov-id 19 which is a nightmare.

First in my life and I hope that this is the last

like judgement day.

This time, the virus has spread too fast. May be we are traveling a lot. Also it is highly communicable and that is why it has spread so fast.

I believe, what makes Covid-19 different is, the infected may not show any symptoms on the early stage of the infection, but the person may transmit the virus to others. That's why they require a 14-day quarantine to those who may have been exposed to the virus. Within 14 days, if a person is infected, the symptoms will already manifest.
