I Didn’t Feel Like MyLotting, Yesterday

I was overwhelmed with notifications and spent time clearing them off and on throughout the day. Thank you!
We had a brunch on a tiny private beach that we found during one of our morning walks. The sun and fresh air knocked hubs and me out.
So, rather than myLot, I spent hours reading, talking, texting, and on FaceTime catching up with friends. I even took a nice little nap.
I felt like my two grand doggies, yesterday.

I am growing weary of social media. If I could, I would get into my car and drive to a nice remote place and check into a hotel but there is no such escape.

I volunteered to work a 4-hour shift at the city yesterday driving around to check on our parks and facilities. I just needed to get out of the house for a while, and take a break from social media and coronavirus news.

@DianneN Surprisingly, they were all empty, just as we want them to be. We were expecting a lot of people to be out and about in the parks in defiance of the lockdown order, so we were prepared to educate them about the importance of staying inside. But it looks like everybody was doing a good job of following the lockdown orders (at least yesterday).
Even though the city is paying every employee to either sit home, or work from home, they are trying to give everybody shifts doing things just to keep spirits up and keep employees from going crazy at home. We're helping with food distribution locations, monitoring parks, sanitizing playgrounds, helping seniors get the services they need, etc.
Friday, our city manager gave me an assignment to contact every single daycare and childcare center in Gainesville and find out if they are open and accepting new kids. He wants to put together a resource guide to publish to help working parents find childcare options during the crisis. There are over 200 daycare centers in Gainesville, so my team and I split them up and we each took a list of 15 or so to call. It definitely helps pass the time.

@moffittjc I’m happy to hear that the people are taking this seriously.
You’re doing a good deed, too.
That’s a great idea about helping working parents.
Just keep yourself safe when out and about.

@DianneN Danie gets her daily walk. She's happy and still healthy. Oh and Danie went with us on our trip and she enjoyed the beach a lot. She swam too when she was there. I'll try to attach of photo of her watching the sunset at the beach. Hope it'll show up.

@toniganzon I am so glad to hear that Danie is fine and even went on the trip with you!
She’s a beach bunny,Brooklyn.
I enlarged the photo and lightened it so I could see it better.
Kisses!

Lucky you getting out and having brunch at the beach.
Thankfully we have a rainy day today so it makes staying in not as hard as on days when it's nice.
It's getting old being on house arrest but I'm too paranoid to not stay home.

@DianneN this virus is so scary. I haven't left the house in two weeks except on Friday I had to go and drop something at the mailbox at our town hall. I kept the windows closed even though it was a beautiful day and opened the mailbox with gloves.

I just love your granddoggies! Brunch sounds wonderful. Sometimes you need to take a break from MyLot. I just had mine. I fell asleep while MyLotting and just woke up! :-) Hugs.

I have stuck in my house for about two months and haven't got chance to a beach or a forest...
so admired you that you had a personal beach and got close to nature :)
Please keep going and be safe. Everything will get better :)

Your grand doggies are adorable! I've been talking on the phone, which I don't do very often. My daughter and I visited, which she usually doesn't have time to do! Jay has been texting with people he knows. Our niece called and they spoke for quite a while. I have three books to read, I'm loving it!

@DianneN I almost forgot that I can't leave, except for going to the store. After driving around the corner, I turned around and came back home! It's getting easier, but it's still foreign.

Yes, it never fails to tire me out.
The one at the top turned out to be a Norwegian Buhund. He is a rescue dog they adopted.
The other one is a purebred Shiba Inu.
They love the kids and are very protective of them, even when my DIL was pregnant with each.

Look at those grand doggies! They look so cute!
Even I am not much on mylot in last few days. Have got few books to spend my afternoons. Morning goes away in chores. And I am enjoying my napping too in the afternoon.
