They just don't get it

Social distancing is not getting through to some people. They just don't seem to understand the concept. I ventured out to get some groceries yesterday and was pleased to see the markings on the floor indicating the distance between each customer. However, some people are in such a rush to get to the cashier that they totally ignored the signs. One woman was a foot behind me and I had to yell at her to get back and she reluctantly did. How difficult is it to observe a simple 6 feet (2 meter) distance rule when there are maked guidelines on the floor?
Do you find it difficult to maintain social distancing?

I saw a nurse suggesting tapping of back for better performance of lungs. While proximity is objectionable, I doubt if it is from behind unless the person is breathing down the neck literally. It is the breath and anything from mouth that are dangerous.

Yes and this one was talking away on the phone and spilling her saliva all over. Those things can travel very far whether they are facing you or not directly. I just feel that people should respect the rules and not make up their own and learn from the devastaton in places like Italy and Spain. But as @moffittjc reminded me, you can't fix stupid.

@Freelanzer I agree. But more than stupid, need to be defiant. My father tries to avoid washing hands, and he tries to use my system and my chair simply because my desktop screen is big.

@vandana7 That's got to be hard on you constantly reminding your father to wash his hands. Especially if he is using your chair and computer.

I have no problem whatsoever practicing social distancing.

I don't either and most people are okay but it is the one idiot that can infect a whole bunch of people.

@Freelanzer I also have no problem whatsoever calling out that one idiot for being an idiot.

@Freelanzer Very true! That's how this is spreading so fast.

And that is the problem - the one person who refuses to do the right thing can infect hundreds.

That may work but I am sure you may still find the odd one who will completely ignore it.

When shoppers enter our Walmart, they are suddenly transported to a fantasy world where no one will ever be sick.

So many are still living in a fantasy world until they are not.

That is the best way to stay safe but I do have to go out occasionally for essentials.

I don't find it that hard to keep the social distance myself but a few days back I saw a queque outside of a bank and let me tell you...those people were not 2 meters apart from each other.... thank god I wasn't on that queue.

I don't either but there are some people who somehow feel they are invincible or just don't take this virus seriously.
