I may be bored but others are scared

Good morning.
Yes people are scared. We find ourselves staying home two weeks or more.
The young people are having a hard time with this.
I saw this in the paper and wanted to shared it with you.
Makes a lot of sense to me and fully understand this.
From our local paper.
This is not about me. This is not about whether or not I find staying home for two weeks to be boring. This is not about any individual person. This is about community: local, national, global community. With widespread panic comes widespread misinformation, and with widespread misinformation comes widespread misunderstanding. The fact is, for the vast majority of young and healthy individuals, the idea of quarantine is much less about your safety than it is about the safety of others. Do you really think not missing two weeks’ worth of partying is a fair trade for someone else’s life?

I think they miss that part about it being more for the safety of others. Youth always think they are indestructible.

I understand how difficult it is for younger people but some of the outrageous behaviour has been exhibited by their parents stripping supermarkets so no wonder that is reflected in their behaviour.
It is going to be tough for everyone especially those on their own. Not being able to see a friendly face for days at a time. No physical contact. This is not going to be over by the end of the month. This is with us for longer sadly.
Time to think about our lot and the lot of others and become more compassionate to each other.
You keep well and stay in doors!

@amadeo They need to be more aware of what is going on around them. They are not stupid maybe just think that it does not apply to them! It's wake up time for them!

Young people can spend this time catching up on school reading, doing online school assignments, working at home, all sorts of things. All the time in the world to text and play video games which I thought were their greatest passions. In other words, act like adults and not party kids. It sucks for all of us and none of us like this but we adapt as best we can.

Hello, my friend!
It's funny how we long for free time, and then we get bored when we have it. We're managing though. We've got lots of yard work done. The house is a lot cleaner. The adults are probably going bonkers more than the kids are, but we're trying to follow the rules and stay safe.

I am so happy that you paid us a visit here and things are going well with you.
I have been home and only go out once a week to get my injection and that is it.
Doing okay and keeping myself busy.do not be a stranger and pop in now and then we missed you.
Take care,Fredo

@amadeo We're doing as well as can be expected. In a way it's like a school vacation, except the kids can't go anywhere... no parks, no library, no playdates. All of those things that helped to keep me sane are now forbidden!

Unfortunately, dire situations always brings out both the good and "bad" in people. Some are self-centered and incapable of following rules, even when it's for their own good...

As long as people are parting and getting together in large groups the virus will not go away. Those people are acting selfish.
