No One really Cares

If you know me from other places you know my husband has Alzheimer's. We have some really great days and some that are just plain complicated. Today after watching the news he said: "no one really cares".
I said, "Are you sure?"
"Absolutely, and then I got on the computer and showed him some pictures of some bluebirds, pictures of twins playing, and Eeyore. He teared up and was "in the moment".
"There are people I have never even met that care about me."
So to those of you are so kind and share things for him to see and read. You are making a huge difference in our lives. Thank you. I will never be able to express how much it means to our family.

He has reserved a time online today for his time to comment - he probably won't type so I will use the He says, to keep things straight. It is important to him that he is heard.

This is sad to read. I fully understand your situation because I know of several people with Alzheimer's and dementia. My first cousin is in that level of not recognizing us anymore.

I have been a couple of months, here in mylot and at that time we have commented on some publications, my grandmother suffered from the same thing I know that it is not easy to deal with that and as you say there are good days and not so many, but you always have to enjoy them and here we are in the good and not as good as they say around here

My dad has Alzheimers and is living with my brother. He is happy and clueless, but I know how lonely it can feel.

That's wonderful you had a good day with him today. I know it's a hard battle you face. My mother passed away from Alzheimer's and my father from dementia.

My mother passed away from Alzheimer's a few weeks ago. I know how precious those "in the moment" moments are, and I'm glad you had them today.
