In Unbelievable Times, myLot is a Welcome Break

Who would have ever thought the whole world would one day be under lockdown! All our friends on myLot are from many different places all over the globe and we were physical distancing all along.
Even though this virus spreads like crazy- I am so, so thankful it isn't even more deadly. If it was Ebola or something like it, the death toll would be even worse.
There were movies and documentaries about the strong possibility of this happening but we didn't take it seriously. Some voices did warn of it but these voices were not loud enough to penetrate our carefree daily lives.. I haven't been on a lot as my son came home from New York about a month ago and I am so glad he did.
He said he knew he may not be able to get out soon so took a plane back to Canada. Whew! As he works remotely it has still worked out well with him.Especially since New York is so bad right now.
It's good to be able to chat within our myLot community without the fear of contagion. So myLot is ahead of the times haha! Keep safe everyone and lets all pray for this to end with the least casualties possible. God Bless.

@MarymargII And once the threat of the virus is over, will any of us be comfortable returning to the way things were? I imagine that there will be a lot of things that we continue to practice-curb side pick up for groceries, limited number of people going into stores, online shopping just to name a few.

@Tampa_girl7 Thanks Marie- but now that he's back there I worry because it's pretty bad in New York. Luckily he works from home and is careful.

No he did and is now back. Where he is they are really careful about reopening cause it was so bad at the beginning.

No but it seems they certainly got their act together with the good governing they're getting during these times.

You must be so relieved your son isn't in New York. My heart aches every time I see the news.

New Yorkers are really getting hit hard as they are so close in the city plus there's so much International Travel!

@Marilynda1225 Oh yes but don't worry I'm sure they are acting responsibly with all the press out there to do so. In fact, New York is reportedly seeing a slight downturn and let's hope and pray it really happens fast! :)

Oh how good that your son was able to make it home! Yep - we will be here for a long time. Thank goodness for myLot - it's my go-to place for when I feel like chatting - and yah, no worries about social distancing and all here! You take care and stay safe out there too!

I'm glad your son got back in time, I know how it feels, we share something in common, my eldest 23 year old son was serving as cadet deck officer in an international oil and chemical tanker that travelled to China and Japan when the virus infection was still breaking out there, good thing his contract was also about to finish, now he is back home safe with us when all hell broke lose
Good to be able to talk to you at this time, God is good and God is great, God bless you too.

Your son is very lucky to be out of NYC.
My son and family live there and I do worry.
Fortunately, he is working from home and the grandkids are continuing their education online. So far, so good.
Stay safe in Ontario. I heard the virus is rising there, too.

Yes we are united in this--never in my life has the world been more united in fighting one enemy- an invisible one with a mission to!

These are such uncertain times and we should be grateful that we are able to distance ourselves and still have communication. Just imagine this like 30 years ago this happening, this isolation would suck haha
