Since it seems that we are getting a bad wrap around the world, what do you think that we could do, also being citizens of this world, to change other's views of us?

I cannot sign anything. It is our 'trusted' government lackies that are responsible for that. Even if we, the electors, press for this upon our elected officials, the electees, does not mean that it would get done. I also agree that we need to stop relying on other countries for thier resources without comprible trade. Face it, our elected officials are more worried about appeasing thier constituancy, then doing what is better for the over all good. Funny, how we are told that we are number one, but it gets down that we look like the number one idiots. Just look at Bush, King Moron, need I say more?

We "invade" other countries because a)they attack us or b)they are attacking others and doing atrocities to other people. Everyone was sitting around letting saddam and his goons torture and kill their own people. Germany and France kept veto the Nato resolution to help the Iraqi people. How many people have to die from their own "leader" before something is done about it? Does it take a mass genocide like Hitler did to get it stopped? I would hope not! too many innocent people die before something has to be done.

Hi! I think one thing we are doing to help is being part of global communities like this one, MyLot. This gives people a chance to get to know us and see that while we are American, we don't necessarily agree with the policies of our government, etc. They can see us as individuals and as people and learn that stereotypes shouldn't apply to anyone, you know? :-)

Good call. You are right, this is a good forum to start making a difference as the world perceives us. So do you think that maybe writing more profound topics will help that?
