How much sugar for one spoon?

one spoon of sugar

I just watched a video about making a bread. However, it just mentioned one spoon of sugar but didn't say how many grams for it. I always prefer to know the exact weight so that I can follow all the instructions correctly. Of course I checked it online but I found different answers. The weight for one spoon of sugar can be 10-25g. Perhaps it is not a very big deal, but I prefer to know the answer for it anyway

Yes It is silly to say one spoon as there are several sizes of spoons for example, Tea Spoon, Soup spoon, Dessert spoon and table spoon. It is the same as saying cup what size is your cup???? It is far better to put it in weight measures!

This is usually the problem I have when I watch some cooking videos about the measurement.

No Gary in the USA they sell a set of "cups and spoons" that you can exactly convert to grams. I bought the set in the USA.

If you look at US recipe, their tablespoon is exactly 14.78 grams, calculate 15 grams and you are fine. I bought a calculator in the USA to convert their recipes.

I don't have the concept of US spoon measurements. This is why usually I try to find the measurement for grams. But I am glad to know 15 grams is for a table spoon

@youless You find conversions tables online. I bought the spoons and cups in the US because I also bought many cooking books there. In books that I bought in New Orleans there were conversion tables, because they use grams there, as they were under French and Spaniards instead of British.

Although there are various sizes of spoons, that recipe should have stated exactly how much sugar and what size spoon.

You are right. I don't have a concept about the size of the spoon.

It seems strange that they don't tell you exactly how much sugar to use.

Yes because the spoons differ like table spoon and other spoon

Exactly. This is why I prefer to the "gram" as the weight.

I know it is 15g

That would depend upon the size of the spoon and the amount it is filled with
