Last night my son was home and we had a little time to just talk and it was nice. He was telling me about his recent days at work and the craziness that he is seeing from the customers and the long hours that he has been putting in.
He works at Home Depot and he was telling me of customers that are coming in and getting something that he things is just not something that needs to be done right now during all that is going on. Customers complaining that they can't get somethings installed right now.
I guess they are not installing anything that is not an emergency. Like if your furnace goes out or a water heater sure they will get someone to install a new one, but if you want carpet installed they are not doing that right now. Some customers of course are not understanding it and are getting mad.
I'm up fairly early this morning (7 am) since I went to bed a bit earlier last night. I was tired and there was no reason to stay up late. I really need to stay on a normal schedule and not let this stay at home thing mess up my sleep and eating habits. Have you noticed either of these getting off your normal schedule?
Hope you all have a good day and stay safe out there.

Because people are forced to stay home, they are doing home projects thus the demand. That customer anger will rise and spill over because you cannot sequester the entire planet to their homes indefinitely month after month.

@Bensen32 For the time being but not two or three months. Enough will be enough. Besides if the infected rates continue to soar when the 99.9% of the population is quarantined, then it proves the quarantine is pointless.

I've been shaking my head for a long time now at what people consider essential.
I've been going to bed later than I normally do lately but I'm trying to keep to a routine. It's funny how I used to think my days were routine and boring. Now they don't look so boring anymore.

Ah, I can see how Home Depot would be both essential and non-essential at the same time. Need things for immediate repairs, but non-essential renovations? Not quite so necessary. I was guilty of that a few weeks ago when I Picked up some paint at Menards. Didn't need to, but I was going crazy around the house in need of a project.

First, thanks to your son and the many people in retail who continue to work and deal with the public through this crisis. As a former retail worker myself, I know dealing with the public can be fun and tricky at the same time. Having said that, people have this tendency to not be in tune with reality. Currently I deal with healthcare supply chain therefore I cannot stay at home. I cannot afford to stay at home but I cannot afford to get sick either. The only change to my schedule is that I may work more hours because of the nature of my job. Personally, outside of finding food and going to work, I think I am home more than people who are supposed to 'stay-at-home'
