Call the Fire Department

I went outside for a few minutes. I heard a woman down the street yell to call the fire department. Someone asked where the fire was. The woman pointed to a house. I walked down there. Nothing was happening. She is still down there saying to call. She thinks something is on fire, but it is not.
It is so boring here lately. Maybe she wants to create some excitement.
I went to the laundry and a guy was in there with a hammer and crowbar trying to get stuck coins out of a washer so a woman could use it.
I think I better stay in where it is safe. How is your neighborhood going today?

Thank you for the laugh!!! I love it!!! If I were there I probably could have had it working in about 10 minutes, 5 of them would be for getting the tools. I used to work in a laundromat. I was one of those kids that could fix about anything, and I still can.
I tend to aggravate the "macho" men that strut into a situation figuring that they can fix the problem. They shove me aside and fiddle with this and twist that and tell the person that they need to call the repair man.
The macho man backs off and I silently slide in, tighten a screw holding down a wire and the thing is fixed and running fine. Needless to say the "Macho Man" storms out of the area barking that his kid could have done that...and someone will always say "Then next time send in your kid, because this lady fixed it faster than you could spit!!!"
I'm not too sure what the crowbar would do, other than cause a couple thousand dollars worth of damage, but a pair of forceps and some really sticky tape may have gotten the coins unstuck.
My neighborhood is nice and quiet this morning. We had the expected rain, It was a nice and gentle rain so the lake is filling up nicely. I haven't heard from Petey yet this morning. He should be down around 11 a.m. yelling at the door to come in and be towel dried and have his bowl of warm cream (he doesn't like milk...it HAS to be heavy, ultra pasteurized whipping cream. Yes, he is a bit spoiled, but as the head cat he deserves to get spoiled once in awhile.
Today will be a work day. I'll be hand sewing teddy bears, taking apart the mink teddy bear and also teaching myself to tat. If I get the hang of tatting it will be something that I can take with me to work on in the car that is much easier than working on the teddy bears. Oh, and I plan to design a new bear in honor of a new "friend" I just made in the past 24 hours. The design is going to take awhile because it's going to be a totally different bear than the ones I usually make. Right now it's a blank spot on the page and in the corner where the accoutrements are there is a magnifying glass. It's the first time I haven't had the design form first and fast.
Stay safe, stay inside, and kick back and relax. Find something fun to watch on the TV and enjoy a hot cuppa whatever you enjoy the most. For me it's back to doing a little bit of myLotting and then to work.

@BearArtistLady I ate some potato soup because I really love it. I have chicken soup here too but I chose the potato. I will eat chicken soup soon. Grilled cheese with tomato soup is a classic comfort food.
I hope you get your order. Maybe it will be returned so she can ship it out again.

@akalinus What I think is super funny is the business I order my supplies from had an offer for the bear artists where they could buy a kit of supplies to make a "Covid 19 monster" and when they finish the monster and before they started sticking pins in it they were to email pictures to the supply house.
I sent in my order and made my payment. I also made a larger order for mohair, eyes, patterns and other stuff. The business owner and I have been friends for longer than I've been making bears, and he had the miserable job of telling me that her husband sent my kits to Colorado rather than California. I sat here and had a great laugh!!! There's no point in getting angry over a mistake like that...anyhow I emailed her back and told her the same thing, that I wasn't upset and there was no point in getting upset. I'm fairly certain that the box went out in the mail this morning...
I agree with you, people need teddy bears or other soft cuddly companions more than ever these days. Even Bill is snoozing with his stuffed dachshund right now. He has had it with him in bed every night since his daughter bought it for him three months ago. It's wonderful to see! I'm not too worried about the design, Suddenly it will pop into my head and all that will remain is drawing it on the paper.
I hope you feel better quickly. Bill and I had grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for dinner last night. We'll have chicken soup for dinner tonight. It's a sneaky way to get him to eat vegetables. He only will eat corn for fresh veggies and he loves chili and baked beans for "veggies" too. My main concern is getting the man to eat and to put some weight on him. He's nearly 6 feet tall and weighs 138 pounds. The doctor says the same thing, that the man needs to gain some weight.
So, if you have any, have some chicken soup for lunch and dinner. It's been prescribed by doctors for several hundred years. They don't know why it works so well but it does, so eat some chicken soup. That's a prescription from "Dr. Bear Lady". (Unless you're allergic to chicken or it's a dietary restricted item.)

It is quiet out there. Maybe if the sun stays out for awhile, peple will start cruising around on their golf carts. I don't mind it quiet, but now even the animals are being quite except for a few birds.

@Shivram59 It is getting weird here. Some doctors are not seeing patients anymore. You have to talk about the problem on the phone and they charge a lot for it. There is no one on the streets except for people going to the stores. Many people are out of work and we have trouble finding the foods we want to buy.

@akalinus What is happening is scary. We are not even allowed to step out of our homes.I can't go for my evening walks.I can see the main road from my window.Nobody is there,.All offices, schools, shops, malls are closed. All you can see there is a few Street dogs. All trains, flights and bus services are cancelled. An eeiry silence is prevailing everywhere. All this is unprecedented. It's a war like situation.
