OH NO!! NO INTERNET! WHAT TO DO???

Just when you think nothing could get worse--yes, I know, getting the virus is--you wake up in the morning to find the Internet is down which means no connecting people in a relaxed way and many at the same time! Then, because I won't get Pandora on my monitor, I turn to the television because I need/want background noise and I never (never say never!) put on the TV until 5 or 6 PM. Sadly without the Internet, there is no TV. Oh, wait! I have an indoor antenna so I can get local networks but being spoiled those hands will drive me crazy! Here I am without the Internet, no streaming TV shows or cable--what will I do with my time? Hey, I got it! I can go back to reading a book or 2 or 3! I can write stories! I can enjoy Mother Nature! I can eat! (Well better watch out for that!) We get so spoiled with technology and think it is the end of the world if something goes wrong! It doesn't! We woke up this morning and we have many choices about how to spend the day and, even, do nothing if that is what we choose to do! I am not lying--after 24 hours I had a great grin on my face when the Internet (and Netflix) came on! Happy Passover Happy Easter

Relax a little, start fixing meals and relax. Play a little game or something.

I think it is because we have been so accustomed to social media and the internet in general and it is gotten to the point where we feel it is as important for survival as food is. We didn’t have this kind of thing back in the 1990s and we got along fine because the internet was so new that it didn’t offer much anyhow. Now that we have it we almost can’t live without it.

@GreatMartin I remember when phones first came out. My first one was boring my second one had one game. The only real thing to do when you were waiting for someone or something was to occupy your time playing with the calculator or searching ringtones. It wasn’t worth playing with, because there wasn’t much to do. Now that they have all this technology and access to so many things I feel like it needs to be on my side at all times, even though I had never felt that way before it (I did occupy my time with the boring game.)

Same as with the phone for many! Being without a phone doesn't/wouldn't bother me at all!

I would feel lost at first if we had no internet. But I have so much stuff that needs to be done in my bedroom that I could be kept busy.

@GreatMartin I have a desk that is right inside my bedroom door. It is a catch-all for everything. My brother is the worst. Don't know where to put something? Put it in Sharon's room

I certainly hope you get the Internet back soon I would flip because I could not be my writing work and it would mean losing money and not being able to let anyone know why I am not working

True. In this age? Losing an internet could mean losing a link to the world! BTW, how are you doing, Sir?

Expect more incidents like this as tech cannot handle this increased pressure.

That's why I now have a long list of what to do when the Internet goes out!! It is almost as long as my list of what to watch on Netflix!!

Did you get your chocolate matzoh? Our internet has been acting up too. I suspect it's going to be a regular occurrence, as so many people are using the internet constantly at home right now.
