In Ho Chi Minh City, it appeared what so called “ Rice ATM" for free rice delivery to the poor people in these tough days
Located at Tan Phu district, this strange "ATM" works 24/24, free rice delivery to help poor workers w/o salary, the jobless , the poor people temporarily overcome difficulties and. survive during the season of Covid-19.
The interesting thing is that this charitable rice generator is designed like an ATM, just press the button, the rice will automatically flow, all operations are used through technology.
Mr Tuan Anh who thought and made this "unique" ATM said that this rice ATM machine is set from April 6 until the end of Corona Pandemic , he hope so .
It is composed of a button connected to an automatic valve and a rice container. When someone presses the button, rice will automatically flow out from the container. Each time they get about 1.5kg of rice, this enough for 2-3 people to eat in nearly a week, ”this rice ATM machine has an umbrella for people to line up, a surveillance camera to help monitor whether the right poor people coming to get rice or not , to refuse wrong people and the persons come two or three times a day…
At the distribution point, the organizers marked squares 2m apart for people to wait for their turn. In addition, the site also has prepared hand disinfectant, masks and plastic bags containing rice to assure safety for people and follow the social distancing rule. Each day , the amount of rice is about 4-5 tons is distributed. Due to the increasing number of needed poor people so the organizers have opened more new points in the next few days
Currently there are a lot of kind people, kind sponsorers bring rice to contribute,
This nice project to help people in need in 2 months or more will be feasible when there is social sharing and support
In difficult circumstances, we can see the golden hearts and the support each others from our people. I love the place where I was born and lived even though my country is still poor

Yeah , Marlina . Now we have many Rice ATM in whole country and also the "0$" mini supermarket, in which the poor people can choose and get 5 items for free and 2 -3 times per month
We feel very happy to hear that Indonesia also start running the rice ATM like VN some days ago . It's really helpful and get very good feedback from receivers . Hope that this model will spread to other countries to help more people in this tough time

That is a wonderful creative idea. You are right. We have quite a few large hearted people who come forward to help those in need in this crisis. It is good to keep a surveillance camera else people might take a wrong advantage of the situation. These kind generous people need a big round of applause.

Most of online newspaper they have photos people receive rice at the distribution points , not the machine .
As describing , this is a simple system , The rice delivery system is a combination of rice tanks located on the roof, this rice container controlled by software and is connected to an automatic valve duct. The main part is the smart bell and automatic valve. Camera and buttons are controlled via an application on the phone. When someone is in front of the camera and press the button, the motion sensor activates the system , the automatic valve will open, and the rice runs out through the pipeline

Yes , Simone . That’s so nice ! They are gathering more than 20 tons rice from 7 April and still have much more from people in the city who want to share and support the poor people .

Wow it is really amazing idea and also smart use of technology. Hear we also get Rice,Wear,Dal from our government but hear we don't use any machine.
If you have that ATM rice Machine picture ,pls share hear...I need to see their structure how it look likes..

The photos on online Newspaper just show distribution points not the system , but you can see my answer to M.L about the mechanism which I collect from newspaper and try to translate . Hope that it help
