Fake News Spotted

Hoax has been busted after someone posted or shared a video with a caption "Some country throw covid19 infected bodies into the seas.Advice to stop eating seafood.The world is really getting to an end.Dear God pls interced". That was the exact wordings and spelling. After this video was shared by a cousin on our Messenger group chat, I immediately searched it on Google. And 2 days ago, this video has been fact checked as well. The video said to be an event from 2014 in Libya and it is not COVID-19 related.
Some countries throw Covid19 infected dead bodies into the seas. Advice to stop eating seafood. The World is really coming to an end. Dear God, please interv...

@jobelbojel I'm unable to view the video because it's been taken down. But I am annoyed with how people do this sort of thing. Not only is it lying but it's another way to put unwanted fear into people. It's not right!

I check validity of the post on social media before taking action or believing on them. But it is a case to case basis, If the post is from a reputable group or site, there is no need to validate.

The problem is, people are still believing stuffs even though it is fake. If it is sensationalized, or emotionally charged, not to mention it is pleasing enough, people will believe fake news. Please don't let it be the sign that people are getting dumber. And as a matter of fact I caught my own boss spreading fake news meme. Goodness!

I read an article about Facebook promises to delete/block all fake news from Facebook. At the time I couldn't understand it, but now reading your post, I have begun to realize why. (Some people are strange, why making fake news like that for!!!)
