I bought a new truck!

Until I bought my Nissan Xterra (and SUV built on a small truck frame) in 2008, I had driven nothing but pick-up trucks. By 2008, I realized I was hauling more guitars, mandolins, and even bass fiddles, than hay bales or saddles, so I decided it was time for an SUV. But my love of trucks has never gone away. Recently, Horse Jr. and I were getting cleaning supplies at the Dollar Tree, when he spotted a Lego-like Golden Gate bridge, along with a Sydney Opera House. Of course I said I'd buy them for him, but I then spotted something that *I* wanted. It was a grey Nissan Titan--a full-size pick-up. So now he has about 300 Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars, and I have two: the Titan, plus a green Land Rover that I wouldn't mind having on a larger scale. How many cars do you own?

We have a car and a truck. Some dealers are offering zero percent interest now, so we're browsing.

this is unrelated, but would you mind hitting my posts up and look at the two on toxic positivity? I just wrote them after I ran into this with my family, and did have some info to back up what I said, and several people lost their every living Sh-t. Like, am I wrong? Why are they this upset?

@TheHorse I wrote another one yesterday, to try and reframe things a bit.

I'll check 'em out right now. Funny that I just woke up from a dream about what I would call "toxic positivity."

We bought our son a Lamborghini once. He wasn't as over the moon as you might have thought.

Did he trade it for a more practical vehicle?

@JudyEv Maybe he was after a Land Rover. Horse Jr. covets mine, but I won't let him have it. Heh.

I think my son owns about a dozen Matchbox and Hotwheels cars. In actual full sized motor vehicles? We have 2 mini vans.

Sounds sensible. I almost kept my old Toyota truck when I bought my Xterra, But I gave it to a "starving musician friend." He still has it.

@spiderdust Surprisingly, Match Box cars are still only a dollar or so at most places.

@TheHorse I just realized that's an honest to goodness metal Matchbox car! That's a good score at a Dollar Tree!

@mrki444 I think I've owned about six cars in my life. Never more than one at a time, though.

None right now. Used to own a Mercedes Benz van. Love that van to bits. Had to resell. Lots of good memories there. If I were to get a new car, it'll be a pick-up truck or a Jimny.

Thanks! In real life, I'm happy with my Nissan Xterra. It even has a stick rather than an automatic transmission.

Cool collection. Reminds me of my son Dustin's. He had cars and trucks. I have them in a box. One car and truck here.
