April 15 - What I'm Thankful for Today

I loved it when I retired and my time was my own. Being on my own has taken on new meaning with the coronavirus pandemic. When I retired I had unlimited opportunities in front of me of what I wanted to do with my time. With the pandemic, I have zero opportunities. I'm restricted to essential needs only - groceries, gas, laundry. However, I still have a lot to be thankful for.
I'm thankful for my health. There are over 2 million cases now worldwide. Over 134,000 deaths. Over 510,000 have recovered. Is your health good?
I'm thankful for the food on my table. I'm not a hoarder. I don't have the room for anything extra. However, every time I've needed to go to the store, I was able to get what I needed from among the empty shelves.
I'm thankful for essential businesses that help with everyday life. Grocery stores, gas stations, laundromats, truck drivers, mail carriers to name a few. Without those essential businesses, life would be difficult if not impossible.
I'm thankful for the little things that often go unnoticed or taken for granted. I can still connect to the world - to you. I can watch TV, go for a walk, talk to people on the phone. Life is full of opportunities even in a restricted lifestyle.
I had a wonderful day today. I went shopping, did house chores, got my exercise, worked on Vendetta and Love's Illusions, and my notifications. Life is good.
What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

One thing is that you have the luxury of time to pursue your books.

@spiderdust I have a hard time reading. However, I can easily work on a book.
I'm sorry you have a lot of children to take you away from reading.
Books aren't a luxury they're my life.

That's a luxury I haven't been able to enjoy during this lockdown! There are so many kids who need my attention. At night, I just haven't had enough brain left to focus on reading.
I have listened to one audiobook though.

I'm thankful that I can still see the church service on Facebook, and I'm thankful that I don't have the virus.

I'm never as grateful for things as much as I am when those "things" are lost.
