No water for these ducks

Where did the water go? I caught a glimpse of this brightly colored duck in a ditch on my walk along the trail. The problem is that the water froze overnight so no water for these ducks. Here it has been melting one day and freezing the next so I can imagine how confusing it is for these poor ducks. Luckily it is expected to warm up today so the waters will begin to melt again. Are you taking more walks than usual these days or the same?

I haven't taken any walks. We live in an apartment and there are too many ways to be exposed here.

I guess if the ducks live in those parts they're used to having frozen water from time to time.

I think they come in from warmer climates in spring
