To Reopen or not reopen?

So, I saw that Texas has decided to open doors next week and people have mixed feelings about this issue. We, in California, aren't set to start opening businesses until at least May 3rd, and that is tentative on whether or not the Governor thinks it is safe. Personally, I want everyone to be safe. I know this has already had dire effects on the US economy and I just hope that everything goes well. I hope people stay healthy and it doesn't turn into a health crisis where there isn't enough medical equipment to help everyone who needs it. If the Governor thinks it is safe, then I'm ok with that. Either way, I'm not going to be angry. I refuse to let this situation upset me anymore than it has to. My kids are happy and safe. They miss their friends (I miss mine too!) but they are still dealing with it well. They are lucky to have so many siblings to play with. My daughter and her bf have their classes at Stanford online until it reopens its doors, and they are happy to be home right now. I know they miss their friends and their school too, though. What do you think? Is it crazy to prolong this stay at home policy or should we stick it out awhile longer?

I do not think it is safe for us to venture out.We all miss our families. But we want to be safe.I have not heard any good news coming from our government .He feels not safe yet.Trump is doing most of this .He wants to get reflected and be a hero.

This is a tough question to answer. Experts are studying our situation here before arriving a a decision.

I think we all should wait until the number of affected goes down. Otherwise, all these quarantine lockdown will be useless

Even if the lockdown got lifted, I don't think it will still be safe to visit anyone. Not until a vaccine is already there. But I agree that businesses should be open so it won't be as bad if the lockdown extends longer.

I can't understand that anywhere in America is going to go back to 'normal' yet. I think it is far too risky but we saw there were demonstrations in Texas about being allowed to go out. I just hope they know what they're doing.

It's a huge loss to economy but health of people should be given more importance. I firmly believe that one should wait till the situation is really under control. Right now, US seems to be badly hit especially in NY.

Some of the businesses in our area are opening next week. We are much better off compared to the other parts of the country.
