Number Sixteen on the list is to clean up this ridiculously cluttered section of my kitchen counter. I have a hard time throwing away containers, because I always feel like I can re-purpose them, so this mountain of stuff is at least 70-80% empty boxes, tins, and plastic containers.
Isn't it ironic that the clutter is actually MADE of stuff that I intended to use to CUT DOWN on clutter? Sigh.

I have been using those boxes to fill with donations for my animal rescue group -- I don't use the individually-wrapped plasticware that come with the food that gets delivered to my office, so I save that and give it to them. It fits well in the box, and when one is full, it's quite a decent amount!

My OCD is crying out to do that task for you. That sight would drive me crazy. You could recycle so much of that stuff and clean it out 1-2-3. Go for it!

Oh, I know, it's terrible. Those cardboard boxes are from boxed lunches that we have delivered at work, and they are such a nice size and good quality that I really wanted to save them, but they could easily be recycled.

@AliCanary My husband and I used to do the "but it's such a nice whatever"...we have stopped that and now get rid of excess boxes and other containers. You have to get to the point of over-saturation and cluttering...we reached that point.

I have a bunch for "eBay purposes" and they were really junking up the place until I broke them all down. They can always be taped back together, and it's a lot less clutter--just a stack, instead of a mountain!

@amitkokiladitya - I did some work on it today! I have to take it bit-by-bit, but I've made progress on it since I posted this.

I already have several in use, holding things like cards and letters and such. I really shouldn't keep so much stuff...

@AliCanary Totally understand that clutter can take up so much time, I like the big round metal cookie container. mmm It's great to have containers for memory travels sometime in the future. I did the opposite once in my life starting over and reduced my stuff to the extreme. One fork, spoon, knife, plate and cup. No kidding. Dish washing after use was a must.

I love it! You are full of great ideas. I used one of them for cards and letters I wanted to save.
