I love gnocchi and I have some here. Roomie brought back a gazillion Roma tomatoes, no joke so I am making homemade marinara sauce. I have been chopping all afternoon. Anyway, I will have some of it with the homemade marninara later on. I hope it will be delicious. Gnocchi for those who don't know is made out of potato flour, or even riced potatoes I think. They are little dumplings. I often order them if I go to an Italian restaurant that has them, not all of them do. They are delicious!

@snowy22315 I have cans of tomatoes that I bought when the pandemic started, I'll probably make a sauce out of them the next time I do something spaghetti-esque.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Actually, I didn't get as much sauce out of this as I thought I was going to, but I didn't put in the full amount of tomatoes. I was chopping all afternoon as it was..although I could have used a blender or food processor..I don't like to make a lot of items to wash. It was very good though.

You might want to check in an Italian restaurant and see if it is on the menu.

Yes, I like gnocchi. I haven't had it for a while. I'm going to see if I can find it in our local grocery store. My husband and I have been having our groceries delivered since Covid-19 but I can still search on my app.
I'm sure your marinara is going to be wonderful. Let us know how it all turned out.

It seems like some have them and some don't. I know they aren't available in every Italian place here.

They are short and doughy compared to traditional pastas.

It would be my favorite pasta, although not sure it is really considered to be a pasta per se.
