What do you do to forget the bad things that happened to you? Do you let it go and forgive people Do you compromise or do you fight until you win or until you cant no more. How do you achieve happiness after having a bad experience ,?

That's the right way, and I hope that is always possible if not easy.

When I have a bad experience I see what I can learn from it and how I can avoid the same bad experience in the future. If someone has hurt me then I forgive them, move on and forget about it.

@judithml There you go! Some evil can be conquered with the good. The evil that can't be conquered with the good must be left in God's hands for him to deal with that kind. May you have success!

That's what I want to do. Some people are just evil and wont change they want to pursue you to defeat you and deplete your energy and time

I realized that forgiving and forgetting is what we need to achieve happiness after a bad experience. A song said " You must forgive me, I must forgive you..... so let's not bring the past now anymore" and I think that it is right. If we experience a bad thing. Learn from it then back to zero. Then try again.

I think it will be easier if the other person at least is sorry, the real sorry at least. Because that means that you are not alone in starting over. Or if you have to move on that they wont bug you anymore.

@judithml Yes, it is easier that way. But we must accept the fact that not all people are sorry when they have done something wrong.

I try to compromise, but I can be stubborn sometimes. I think with me, as I've aged I have been less confrontational and go with the flow more. With age comes wisdom

Yes sometimes it seems only thing left to do to settle is compromise and that's after a whole lot of negotiation and losses. But that's the only way to win it seems. Cos the other options cause more pain or suffering.

I may forgive but I'll never forget to forget would be to be a fool. Remembering what someone did to you is smart it means you won't make the same mistakes with them in the future. You dont need to forget what they did to move on. I do this even if they genuinely apologise I just won't bring it up in conversation.

Right, you have a point. If I have to defeat them, I have to remember what they did wrong to not let me and them repeat to me the same mistakes.

@judithml It's nothing about defeating them. It's about protecting your own sanity.
