Groceries and Delivery

After waiting two weeks we're finally getting groceries delivered on Saturday. The only time slot available is between 4pm and 10pm which seems like a big gap.
But, since we're home anyway it really doesn't matter what time they come.
No more inside deliveries but they'll bring it to the porch.
Now it's a matter of placing the order and keeping my fingers crossed that we get everything.
I didn't think I'd ever miss grocery shopping but I do. Well not the actual in store shopping but the ability to go whenever and get whatever you wanted.

@Marilynda1225 I go only once a week, early in the morning at the opening. No more than 10 people are allowed inside the store, I feel safe.

I generally like to choose my own groceries but the less I go to the store the safer I feel. Right now I'm happy to have it delivered.

I enjoy going to store, even in these Covid times, but roomie would love it if there was grocery delivery available here. I bet he would never leave the house..that is why I am glad they don't. I hope you get your order OK.

@Marilynda1225 Oh wow, not like that here, unless you count Trader Joes. I did see a line there.

We now have lines waiting to get into the supermarket. My oldest daughter stood on line for a half hour the other day just to get in the store.

@snowy22315 I'm really surprised at the wait time to get into the store. Grocery shopping has become an Olympic sport these days.
What surprises me most is I don't live in a city.

Oh, how much I know what you mean about not being able to go wherever whenever. I cannot imagine having to wait two weeks for a grocery delivery. I've been pretty lucky with having my deliveries made on the next day. On the two deliveries that I had, there were 4 items each time that were not available but nothing that I can't live without. I'm sure that when all this started up here in town, there may have been much longer waits for deliveries. I hope that you have better luck with waiting times on the deliveries from now on.

Wow you're lucky that you get delivery so fast. I'll be happy with whatever I get when the delivery comes. The last time we did this we got almost everything.

You are lucky to have a delivery of groceries. Here, we have to fall in line to the entrance of the store.

@Marilynda1225 the problem with lining up is the very long line that is about 50 to 100 people ahead of me.

Many of our stores are the same. If you need something quickly then you have to go and stand in line

Shopping has become a very time consuming chore these days.
Is grocery shopping difficult there too?

@Marilynda1225 No, not really. We've just come back from shopping. The trolleys are wiped down for you; there is sanitiser as you go in, you're expected to keep your distance and most things are available so it wasn't too bad.

Oh my gosh, a 2 weeks wait! I just got through grocery shopping yesterday - in store. I hear they are talking about curb side pick up - I wouldn't mind that either but I don't know when that will happen. I know what you mean . . . I miss all the things I used to take for granted before this.

We also have pickup available but it's almost as hard getting a time as it is for delivery

@Marilynda1225 I ended up going supply shopping today. I looked online last night, and the stuff I needed was not available, or so it said. So I just face masked it and went. I hope they get the delivery issues sorted out soon.

It's funny how we've taken a simple thing like food for granted. Who would have thought that life would change so much in such a short amount of time.

It's a big advantage being able to have groceries delivered. Before the virus got so bad we would use delivery during snowy winter months and it was pretty much an open schedule to choose from. Now it's a long wait but since we had enough on hand we decided to take the time available.

I am not a person that likes deliveries. I prefer even though it is no fun to go out there to go to the store myself and get what I need hopefully.
