I Love Tulips

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone! I hope you are having a good day so far. I slept really good last night. I went to sleep around 11 pm and woke up at 5:30 am. Daisy woke me up or I would have slept longer. I was afraid she would jump off the bed so I went ahead and got up. Today is supposed to be a nice sunny day. I hope so since it rained all day yesterday. Right now it's still cloudy but you can tell the clouds will blow over soon. The birds around here are so happy, just singing and chirping. It just warms my heart. The picture above is from Pixabay and it shows one of my favorite flowers, tulips. The blooms just don't last that long. My next favorite flower are Daisies. I love all shapes and colors of Daisies. Do you have a favorite flower?

I never knew until a few years ago when I planted some, that they don't bloom for long. But, they are so worth it.

I loved the tulips in the Netherlands. My favorite flowers are roses and bird of paradise.

I've never been to the Netherlands but I can imagine how beautiful they are. I like white and yellow roses. Birds of Paradise are very pretty. I remember Mom getting a bird of paradise in a flower arrangement my father sent her. That's the only time I have ever seen one.

@GreatMartin Very true. Some beautiful flowers don’t give off the aromas we would hope for.

I love all types of flowers. They bring such joy to a darkened day.I would have to pick the hardy mum. They smell great, look beautiful, and last a long time. Today we are getting rain. It was sunny, but a bit chilly yesterday. Tomorrow we are supposed to get some great weather!

I think my favourite would have to be carnations but you rarely see them nowadays.

I think carnations are so pretty and they come in so many colors. You know, I can't remember when I last saw carnations. I wonder why.

Orchids are gorgeous! I've always wanted to buy one but was afraid they would be too hard to keep alive. Have you ever grown one?

Yes, they do. Once when I was a lot younger, I was having a really bad day. Out of the blue, I received flowers from my Mom and my mood immediately lifted.

Oh I love tulips, too! And there are so many beautiful varieties now. I wish they'd last longer, too. The previous planted some black tulips out back of my apartment, I'm told in mourning for her brother. I'd lilke to put some new bulbs out in that same area, the black just doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. I just planted some wildflower seeds out in a side patch, I hope they make it. I can't put much back into the yard so i hope I cleared it out well enough. Weather here in Santa Fe has been nice too.

I've seen black tulips on tv before but didn't know they were grown that way. I just thought they were colored enhanced.

We don't get your 'Yankee' flowers down here--not cold enough for the bulbs during winter so we don't have tulips, irises, hyacinths, crocus, etc.

Such lovely tulips. I miss the tulips I had in my garden in Latvia. I was always bringing them in to put in vases because they grow such a short time.

The tulips in the picture look like they are growing wild. Are those your tulips? I love the red ones and I agree, they don't last long enough.

Carnations do smell really good! Judy mentioned that they were her favorite too but you don't see them much anymore which is true where I live. Is it the same for you?
