Apparently, (according to President..really?) Trump the above can be used to KILL the most deadly virus to hit the world population for many years. Why is this man allowed to say such crap? By his own admission there are "millions" watching him every day because most people are at home, so he has a captive audience. How ironic! I guess Twitter is the most fun site to be right now but really..if anyone takes any of it seriously there will be many people ending up in hospital..and it won't be because of Covid-19. It will be a mixture of serious sunburn from UV Rays and poison from drinking/injecting bleach! To be honest, though, I don't think anybody knows what they are doing. There has been widespread panic worldwide because the virus is 'new' and I find it amazing that one medical boffin can say one thing and another disagrees..so who is right? You see, Trump is playing on all this confusion and using it to his advantage. People are going stir-crazy being trapped in their own homes and will believe anything if it gets them back to work sooner rather than later. As for the elderly, they really are being treated like second-class citizens and that is happening worldwide. Mum gets stared at like she's a leper if she goes out to buy provisions. It is HER choice that she is not on the internet. It is HER choice she has no mobile phone. If she wants to go out, she will go out. Oh, and it's her exercise right? She's allowed to go out for at least an hour and she is feeling well, so 'up yours' to anyone who thinks she should 'stay at home!' Captain Tom (99) was amazing raising all that money zimmer-framing up and down his garden but - let's face it, he's one of the lucky ones, as he's still in his own home and has a garden to walk in. Mum has a garden (and talks to neighbours over the fence) but she would much rather do things for herself than ask others to do it. I feel so sorry for people in Care Homes because once one person gets it, it spreads rapidly. It angers me that the media bang on about Care Homes (usually the staff, which is fair enough) but they never got a mention before all this started, so why the hypocrisy and the fake concern now? I really want to go and see Mum but these restrictions mean I can't (I live nearly 100 miles away as some of you already know) but how long is this going on for and how many elderly folk are lying there dead in their homes without anyone noticing? I mean, this happened before the virus hit, right? Let 'em be. If they can do so let them out. Open up some coffee shops..hairdressers.. anything to make them feel human again. Sorry for the rant but it had to be done. No way was I going on Fakebook!
