Happy Happy Friday everyone!
I called a friend last week, whom I haven’t spoken with in a couple of months.
She told me that her beautiful and bright daughter-in-law, Andrea, passed away from her year long battle with cancer. That was a shocker! The last time we spoke, Andrea was doing well.
Andrea’s husband and 11 year son are doing as well as can be expected. A memorial service is up in the air now.
The day Andrea passed away was the day I was out partying and having a grand old time.
We just sent flowers and a food gift basket.

@just4him She wanted a child so badly, but had to adopt a baby. She loved him so much.
My other friend is doing okay and receiving some of the treatments down here. She won’t return to Long Island until the end of June. I hope it won’t be too late.
We talk and text every day.

@DianneN , I know it is hard to accept but let's pray for the peace of her soul. At least she not suffering anymore. It's harder to see and watch her suffering in pain. Pray for the husband and children that he may accept it eventually. If we keep holding on so much their souls will have a difficult time to leave earth because she sees the whole family has not accepted it. Tell her that you'll always love her and think of her.
I've lost my dad too but we told him, if he has to go, just go we'll be ok and he'll always be loved and remembered.
Just continue praying all the time. Please take care of yourself too, she wouldn't want to see you like that because she loves you all so much. I may not understand your real pain, but please take care.

I am so sorry for your loss. Cancer always seems to take beautiful young people way too soon. I can understand feeling guilty. My grandmother passed away when I was gambling at a casino. But, like Uncle Joe said, one has nothing to do with the other.

I'm so sorry....so sad for her husband and son. Of course you realize there was no way you could have known about it while you were at a party.

She was too young to pass away. May the family gets all strength to move on. 11 year is a too tender age to loose mother.

@DianneN Good that you call them daily. A hearty talk to someone in such time does help to reduce the burden on your heart.

In this moment when the only news we watch or read are about the COVID-19, we tend to forget that people are dying every day from other terrible ailments. Cancer is one of them. I understand that as I lost one of my grandsons to cancer when he was 7 years old. The bravery of some of these young people make us remember them as Andrea will be in the hearts of her loved ones.

Sorry to hear that. When my father passed away I was also out partying. I didn't know that my father was at the hospital. We live far away from our parents because of our jobs and we didn't have much communication because that time there was no internet yet and distant communication is difficult.
