Our next song trivia series will focus on bad weather....namely "rain." I've had plenty of rain here in New Jersey (USA), going back as far as January, so I thought this song subject would be appropriate. And maybe by doing a rain series it will bring about more sunny weather in my state. So let's get "soaked with some rainy tunes." Have you ever been caught in a downpour because you forgot your umbrella? One can feel quite foolish. So, try not to be a "Fool In The Rain" as this video tune by Led Zeppelin warns. Although the song was more about a guy who is supposed to meet a woman on a certain corner. When the woman doesn't show up, he thinks he's been stood up. It turns out he was just standing on the WRONG corner, and is now a "fool in the rain." Enjoy the tune and "rain in" some correct answers to the song and artist clues below... Whodunnit? Can you name these playful rainsongs and artists who recorded them? 1. This iconic song was the centerpiece and title tune of a movie which came out in 1952. It starred a Hollywood actor known for his terrific dance moves which he demonstrated during a classic rain scene in this musical film. This Irishman was known for his energetic and athletic dancing style, his good looks, and the likable characters that he played on screen. This 1952 film and another, "An American In Paris," secured this actor's reputation as a major figure in the American musical film. As co-director, lead star, and choreographer, he was the central driving force in both film's success. Finally, in seeing that classic movie scene it was amazing what a dancer can do with an umbrella and lamp post as props! Do you know this actor/singer and the movie song? 2. Cher sang backup on this 1964 Top 40 song. Despite the title about rain, the tune is actually about finding the right person to love. This song contains special effects of a rainstorm. The backup vocalists sing a certain number of male names during the song's bridge and the lead singer rejects all of them. The lead singer of this female group was married to her producer from 1968-1974. This female act was the only girl group to tour with the Beatles. They also opened for the Rolling Stones UK tour in 1964. Among this group's most famous tracks are "Be My Baby," "Baby, I Love You," and today's mystery song. Do you know this female group and their song? 3. Video Bonus- Led Zeppelin is one of two bands with five diamond albums, meaning sales of more than 10 million each. Question: Can you name 3 of the 5 Led Zeppelin albums which gained this status? Double Bonus: Can you name the other band who achieved the five diamond sales accomplishment? Ok, let's not get "rained out" by failing to get some correct answers to these song and artist clues. Remember part of the song's name has a "rain" reference in it's title. If your stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or, as the band Jefferson Starship would say, you can "Count On Me." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! Well, # 1 is correct and I always say 1 is always better than none so no "rain on your parade." em]cheering[/em] #2 clues-One of the singers whose name was Ronnie, short for Veronica, was married to Phil Spector who produced the girl group. Some people like to stroll along in the rain. What's another word for stroll and you've got the song title... Double bonus answer was a group from Liverpool also called the Fab Four!

That's a nice guess. That tune was recorded by Lou Christie. He also had another weather related song called "Lightning Strikes." This rain song was sung by an actor who was a dance partner with Fred Astaire in the movie documentary "That's Entertainment." Any idea who this "Anchor's Away" actor is? He liked to sing in the rain... 1. 2. (Walking) In The Rain- The Ronettes 3.
