Stupid Cupid

A poem each day keeps the boredom away
In my case, it also serves a calming effect on me to keep off from murdering my husband in his sleep. The long isolation I fear may have infected me with Cabin fever and raise the question of my sanity.
(kidding)
Stupid Cupid
The flexible quiver
flew through the air
let loose from the bow
by love's desire and demand
Two solitary figures
lust awakes without warning
a rising hunger in their eyes
for a flirtatious office romance
A nervous Cupid
unease with misgivings,
did I sent out a heavenly gift
or in mischief, the apple cart upset?

Cupid doesn't always do the right thing.
Over here, the counterpart of Cupid is the Old Man of the Moon.

rather an obvious song addition to a fine poem

The unpredictability of love.
Is it good, or bad, or because it's love, maybe, it's always ok?
I would hate to be Cupid, waiting with trepidation, wondering whether to loose the arrow, or not, from my bow.
A thoughtful poem, that touches on many sides of love, with its quivering, questioning lines.
Great job.

@josie_ Yes, the protests are starting here now, though, as they were in America in the last few weeks too.
People are wanting to swing Thor's hammer now, rather than to stick to just the bows and arrows of Cupid's love.

@innertalks The pandemic is causing Cabin fever. It's not surprising that people want to get out and resume normalcy. Unfortunately, this is the new normal and we have to accept it.
