Air vs. Car Travel, Travel Safety

I've been stuck in Missouri for the last few months while I finished up my classes. I decided to stay because I didn't want to travel. Now classes are over and my summer classes are virtual, so I've decided it's time to go home to Colorado to be with my family. I'm so nervous to travel though. Any thoughts on which is safer, flying or driving? And any ideas on how I can keep myself safe and minimize risk when I leave?

Things are beautiful and the temperatures are moderate. It would be a good trip.

If you have your own car, driving gives you much less exposure. Will your drive be about two days? Take food and water or other drinks so you do not have to stop for those. Use your card for gas if you have it. Take hand sanitizer and wet wipes to clean your hands. if you stop to stretch your legs, etc. make it fairly empty places. I have not gone anywhere on the road lately, so I cannot tell you if rest areas are 100% closed, but you would pass straight through where I am, in Kansas. I think if I would making that trip I would try to do restroom breaks at Wal Mart. They are doing excellent jobs around here of keeping the facilities clean and sanitized. Take a mask or at least a bandana to cover your face in stores. Have a nice trip.

Even though statistically cars are far more dangerous I would still rather be in one.

I have to agree with the previous posters. If you can, drive your own car and don't pick up hikers.
