Purple Toes

My mom’s left foot is still not doing to well, even though she was released from the hospital. At least part of each toe on that foot is purple from messed up blood flow. I’m hoping it really improves over these next few days with the medications she’s on. The longer the blood flow is messed up - the higher the chance of her losing toes or even her entire foot. It would probably be doing better if she’d stay off it, but she continues to refuse to rest.

Does your mother understand the risk? She MUST stay off her feet!

I don’t think she really does. She’s pretty mentally ill and her thinking is still cloudy from being so ill.

It's horrible. She needs to rest because it is very dangerous.

Yes! She can move them and they are warm...so some circulation is getting to them at least.

@Lolaze That's good, but it's not a good finger color to have.

It's hard to get parents to listen sometimes when they think they really know what is best.

I hope she gets better I am wonder if massaging it helps and yeah she does need to stay off her feet as much as possible. I think blood thinners might help but me no doctor.

She is on blood thinners and a medication to break up plaque in her arteries.
