I Felt Like a Bank Robber

Leaving the house after being in for weeks is a strange feeling.
I got my stimulus check so I had to go to the bank and deposit it. I was wearing my mask and had gloves since I didn't want to touch the canister at the drive thru. The cashier was pleasant and smiling and just as friendly as the good old days.
It was a little strange hardly seeing any other cars on the road and all the little stores in that shopping area closed.
Now I'm home, changed my clothes etc.
Going out is weird and requires so much thought these days. No more jumping into the car and running a quick errand.
The old days remembering pretty much required only wallet, phone and keys.
Now it's a complicated ritual both going out and coming home.

I slipped it off my face more than once when no one was around totally unused to this kind of thing as well and the gloves went into my pocket as we all need the sunshine to get to us in all ways.

It's a bit unsettling having to wear a mask when going out. It's not anything I've ever experienced in my life

@Marilynda1225 , I know, but still I am a nervous wreck right now as I have not gone anywhere for more than 1 month being an extreme risk.

I don't think you need to be nervous if your doctor will meet you in the parking lot. At least you won't be coming in contact with other people

We're required to wear them now when we go out.

@Marilynda1225 What state is that? I hear somewhere in Texas they are saying it is a $1000 fine if you don't, Not sure if they are really going to enforce it or not but that is what they are saying.

I wonder how long before we feel comfortable in our 'new normal'?

I don't know but I think we're pretty adaptable as humans. I wonder as we get used to this "new normal" if the day comes when we can go back to the "old normal" will it feel strange?

I agree that getting all garbed up for safety to go out, and then to get cleaned up again after coming home is a bit time consuming and complicated.
I prefer to stay at home now as a result. I am afraid that if I am out I will try to do too many errands and might let my guard down, so I stay in. But I'm finding that this isn't the perfect scenario either, I am getting a bit depressed here. I hope that we plank the curve soon and that they can begin to open things up a few weeks from now.
I will say that I a MORE thankful then ever for myLot.

It really does take a bit more preplanning, doesn't it?

Yes it takes thought and planning. It takes spontaneous out of our vocabulary

I only used the gloves for touching the canister at the bank.

And just think, we have months more of enjoying this unless something breaks.

I'm afraid this is what we'll be dealing with for quite awhile. I think masks will be our new fashion attire for a long time

I have been wearing gloves to handle the cannister at the bank too, and the handles at the gas pump. I told my family, I look like Billy the Kid in my bandana.

There is so much more to do now when we come home. Mom has a hard time remembering everything.

I am glad you got yours. I live in Israel so getting something from the United States takes time to get here. I am glad you got out. It is weird to go out now. I hate going out now because I am dodging people right and left.

I've always been a homebody even as a teen. Going out to the groceries and shops is a dreadful chore I force myself to do if necessary. So, I let my hubby do the shopping, most of the time. I love country drives and walks, though.
