My daughter, the doctor, texted me afternoon before yesterday and requested I get her a load for her hospital sim card when I go for grocery the following day. I was set out for food, my ref's empty.
Woke up early and took a 4 am bath. That would give me time to let my long locks dry naturally so I could braid it up for the grocery trip at 7 am.
By six, I was geared up - face mask, rain suit, sanitizers, and eco bags. Got to the local grocer in no time just to find out the store opens at eight. Sigh! A long wait. At least I was first in line.
Went to the counter for the load. The cashier said there's none. Texted my daughter and went about my grocery list - chicken, fish, fruits and veggies, milk, cold cuts, noodles, sauces, and drinking water. Wow, what a sum of two thousand six hundred pesos for a fortnight's sustenance. Made a mental divide. Less than two hundred pesos a day? Okay. Yay.
Parking at home and unloading the stuff was the exhausting part. Gear off - rain coat dropped on the porch, mask at the garbage bin, shoes a meter from the door. The process of wiping and disinfecting the items one by one drained my strength. But I rushed to the bathroom for a quick shower.
Checked my phone and message showed my daughter asking me to check any 7/11 convenient store for a load. Sigh. Texted her back that I'd eat a quick brunch first. My sugar's dropping, I could feel.
Half an hour after, I put on a new rain coat and another mask. Did not bother to tie my frizzy hair. Found an open 7/11 and got the load.
At home, hit the shower third time in the day. It was not even lunch time yet.
Tired, I thought that that is just how it is in the here and now.

I showered three times today. On a minimum, I shower at least twice daily.
