Back to basics: Making a pair of guitar sound hole coasters for Horse Jr.

With Covid-19 hanging over our heads, nobody is bringing vintage speakers and/or receiver cabinets to my house for restoration. I had a great January (I think it was January) and then reality hit. So now, I'm back to making coasters (what you put your drinks on--what do they call in where you live?) out of unused acoustic guitar sound holes) and sending them off to family members. Horse Jr. demanded a "custom" pair. He wanted slightly lighter coloration than I usually generate, and grey backing. So that's one of my projects for how. I have stained them and put some polyurethane on them (so they don't bend when exposed to moisture), and will attach the felt bottoms soon. What "projects" do you have going on at home during these odd times?

@amadeo California has screwy seasons. The hills are a beautiful green in January, and are brown by May. We can start our gardens early because of the temperate climate.

As you might have read, we are reorganising the workshop. You can't see where we've been really but we've filled the wheelie bin once and will do so again at least a couple more times so we must be getting somewhere.

Heh. Yes, I read that. I'm trying to organize my kitchen table/work space. I can almost see the table now.

@TheHorse I cannot remember what they call them in Hebrew so I will say coasters. Nice project.

No projects here, just bird watching and photographing the blooms. Nice job you have there.

No projects here. I just have to do some mending and then find a check that I hope I didn't shred. Nice looking coasters.
