Seriously people. This is why education and specifically science education is important! The whole COVID-19 pandemic isn't over. It isn't even close to being over. . . and guaranteed there will be a second wave with idiot non-science believers going out into public too soon.
Schools reopening? How are you going to keep desks 6 feet apart in small classrooms? What are you going to do about cafeterias and buses? How are you going to force students to keep masks on?
I just can't stop with this stupidity. Kill people to own the libs. I honestly don't even know if we will go back to in-person school again in September when it is supposed to start up again.
Montana's Office of Public Instruction issued a recommendation April 9 that districts keep their schools closed for the rest of the spring semester. However, two weeks later, Montana Gov. Steve Bullock announced as a part of a phased reopening of the state

According to The Horse, there are only 10 cases of COVID-19 in a state of 1,000,000 people. Maybe they feel confident opening the schools.

In areas at very low risk, this will begin to happen. In our community we had three Covid-19 cases, who didn't live in this area. They were from cities south of us. I guarantee, things will be opening up all over the country, in low risk areas. Down by Detroit where it hit like a steam roller, things won't be opening up for quite a while.

What is stopping people from Detroit from going to the areas with few cases? What is stopping the people from rural areas travelling to Detroit and bringing it back with them.
Surely we can see how it spread around the world. Just because there have been very very few cases in my county, I don't see it as a low risk area. I know most people go to the city for shopping, appointments, etc.

@paigea We live almost 300 miles north of Detroit, most people aren't traveling. Things are beginning to die down, around the state.

Did you hear?
There's been a whistleblower complaint filed because of the handling of the medicine Trump was flouting, also, I heard something about them stopping the briefings.
Yeah, kids, especially younger ones, arent' going to wear a mask all day.

We have had an escalation in cases and deaths since we partially opened up two weeks ago. Thank God our schools are closed.

Funny. I just wrote about my mother's native Montana and whether I should go up there and visit. I have a cabin in the Judith Mountains there, Northeast of Lewistown. Because of the low population density there, there have been very few cases of Covid-19 in Montana. What's the prudent decision concerning schools? I have no idea.

@TheHorse Maybe if you are totally alone. Gas stations on the way there?? Don't know. I just cancelled a sister's weekend that was supposed to happen on May 15th. Just a small cabin motel but the owner has been shut down and really, gambling on our lives is just not worth the fun.

Even if they are going to attend until mid-June or whenever, I do not see the point in it. Is this the only state that is opening its schools? It makes you wonder what exactly that governor is thinking.

In my country, even some authorities think that it is posible to reopen schools soon.

Right? I was thinking WTH when I first heard this. I am hating this mentality of "because our numbers are low" . . . if these people who are reopening keep going so fast, we can all foresee what will happen. Sigh. Our school district will open in August, but most likely it will be online still . . .which is a whole 'nother issue in itself. .

Why do they bother with so little time left in the semester? The year is shot and that's that. Maybe they get fed money for butts in seats.
