Any place for a birds nest

Birds will build nests in many different places. But, I think this place topped it in originality. A Mama bird built one in our artificial hanging plant on our front porch, laid eggs and the babies, 3 of them hatched. My son had to step on a chair to take a picture which scared 2 who flew off, 1 remained. The picture is a little muddled with the remaining bird. Have you ever seen a bird build a nest in an artificial plant before? The picture was taken with my son's cellphone.

Birds will build a nest wherever there's a good opportunity. Cute picture.

It does seem a nice nest for it. I like this one that is built across two wires.

Birds can be funny and pretty silly too. A dove laid an egg on the top of a bird feeder last year.

@LeaPea2417 My mom always told me that doves are silly birds, she was right.

We had a sparrow build a nest in our live fern before. The sparrow eventually abandoned the nest and there were 3 eggs in it. I think the nest was abandoned because it was in a high traffic area.

I think it is always sad when a Mother Bird abandons a nest with eggs in it.

That is hilarious, but a bird has to do what a bird has to do. My son had a nest in the elbow of a drainpipe at his other house. The wind blew the nest out and the mother flew away and left her babies.

@LeaPea2417 I agree. My son wanted to care for them, but they didn’t have feathers.

The Mommy bird thought that was a good place to have her babies. That is neat.

I love the photo what a clever mama bird to take advantage of your hanging basket like that. I do hope that the other two birds came back later.
