my donut dreams came and went

the doorbell rang this morning and in came 2 boxes of donuts from dunkin, a total of 12 pieces.
what a coincidence.
i've been thinking about buying some donuts (mr. donut) at the convenience store when i go out later this week to buy essentials.
sister said to take what we want because she's going to give the rest to the people manning the checkpoint set up here on our street since last week.
i noticed some changes in the box's design.
on the side it says "salamat sa mga frontliners mula sa dunkin" (thank you the frontliners from dunkin).
on top of the box there is a long poem in filipino entitled 'salamat' (thank you).
it feels good that they find ways to honor the sacrifices of frontliners. and i'm grateful we have food delivery now.
but i can't help but wonder how the marketing and advertising people were able to design, print and distribute all these boxes.
i don't watch tv, but i also notice new commercials with covid themes. i mean how were they able to shoot them?
the lockdown started march 15, extended to may 15.
everything is closed and all transportation on hold.

I guess the lockdown didn't apply to certain people! lol I hadn't even really thought about it, but you are right, how did they film all these commercials if everyone is supposed to be in lockdown, and how did they design, print and manufacturer all those boxes if everything is shut down and people are supposed to be quarantined in their homes?

@moffittjc we have them to enforce the transportation ban (private and public) and to make us stay home or close to home

@hereandthere Well, I don’t know how it is in other countries, but we don’t have any checkpoints in the US.

I am glad you got donuts at your door. I remember dunkin donuts and they were very good. The donuts we have here are very good and I miss them. I do not venture that far where we can get them yet. I hope next month I will be able to.

@Hannihar they say it will be gradual so not although public transportation will resume and some places will reopen for business, there will be a lot of limitations and protocols to be followed.

I could only donuts from 7-11 but they're way too expensive for only two donuts.

In this digital age it is easy for people to design and record and mix existing designs and videos on their computers. Many famous people who are in the media spotlight have made videos and podcasts from home that are very high quality, some like Gorden Ramsay taken on a mobile phone by one of his daughters if they can do this with just a phone just imagine how easy it is for professionals who have all the tools to hand to do it.
Gordon's back for another Ramsay in 10 from home this time making a Steak and Potatoes with a Delicious Chimicurri. And for only the second time as Gordon co...

@hereandthere Well a lot of people are free to move about in lots of countries, as long as social distancing is observed and when you see what people do with the green screen technique which makes it appear something it is not the old addage seeing is believing no longer holds lol.... Plus I don't watch live TV so I don't see commercials so I really don't know what Im talking about lol....

no, but there was a checkpoint set up here in our street about 2 weeks ago and my sister gave them half of the donuts as appreciation.

I am sure the businesses selling products are saddened by what has happened with the virus, but it also makes good marketing sense for additional sales to make a statement on behalf of the first responders and medical staff.
