Is this a kind of apple?

I found a tree bearing a lot of fruits at the nearby neighborhood when I walked with my husband to his friend's house. So, we stopped and looked at the fruits. We'd never seen that kind of fruits in our life. For us that is something new. I picked up some fruits and tried one of them. It tastes so good. Like peach. Its skin is brownish or velvet with soft 'hair' covering its skin, and its flesh is white or a little pink, the flesh is soft and creamy, and it tastes like the mixture of banana, pineapple, and peach. So lovely. I asked a local people there, and they told me it's a kind of apple. We disagreed with it. It doesn't look like apple at all. What do you think? Do you have idea of what fruit it is?

Well, I would agree that this is not apple... plus as per botany, I think it doesn't even belong to same genre....

The fact that it has a single stone and four sepals where the fruit came off the tree tells me that it's not an apple of any kind, even though one of its common names is 'velvet apple'. In fact, it's related to the persimmon (and the ebony tree) and locally known as kamagong or mabolo.

Not sure of it. Definitely no where close to apple. A mixture of banana, peach and apple sounds really delicious.

Vevet apple
Yes that's a velvet apple. It's native in our country Philippines. We call it Mabolo fruit. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diospyros_discolor

@Miss_Leafy why not try it? Secure or get its seeds and plant them.
