I just heard of a town that wants to take Christ out of Christmas. How much more ridiculous can you be? I am so sick of people trying to change things that have religion in it just because they don't believe. If you don't believe, fine, that's your choice, but leave everyone else alone. Of course, it's not everyone, but it only takes one.

Personally, I support a more sensible approach. How about celebrating whatever you want to celebrate? I'm all about calling it Yule instead of christmas, celebrating the Winter Solstice instead of a Christian holiday. But you know what? Everyone else can celebrate when they like and when they like to, I don't mind one bit. It's all a matter of perspective. So many people want to force their ideas and opinons into the mainstream. Too many chiefs, not enough indians.

The 'I' when crossed out becomes the symbol of the cross. So what is really crossed out is 'I' or ego. Christianity in general is the religion of those who believe in Christ, as a unique revelation of God. It arose nearly 2000 years ago as a section within Judaism in Palestine. It accepted the first Jewish scripture as its own, but instead of the traditional belief of the Jews that the expected Messiah or Christ was yet to appear, it held that he had already appeared on earth in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. So Christianity centers around the life and message of the Jesus who was called Christ or the Messiah. He was the son of Virgin Mary upon whom the grace of the Lord had fallen.
