I woke to sounds coming from under my bed at 4am. Seeing it wasn’t one of my 3 kids and one sleeping next to me. My mind went to giant mouse being in my room. Then something furry came out from under my bed. Seeing what it was from the bathroom light still being on it was Howl (my 11 month old ferret!) I scooped him up, asked how he got upstairs and out of his cage. Came down stairs from the bedrooms after listening and not seeing another ferret up there. Once down stairs I could hear form the kitchen sounds. Wasn’t sure if it was from the cage or not. Found another ferret Sofie in the kitchen. I placed Howl down some where safe, spotted ferret 3 Casper on top of the cage so I got him next put him down. Went back to the kitchen to get Sofie whom was trying to hind from me.
Once I had all three and found where my 4th ferret was which she was still interested he cage sleeping. I placed the three back into the cage to figure out where and how they got out. So I watch and it didn’t take long the oldest one went straight for a while they created. I tried to fix it at first but I was tired and they where not giving up on trying to get out and leave things alone. I took all 4 and placed them in there cat carrier for the the rest of the night. My husband and changed out the tunnel this morning after getting home from work and closed off that area to the ferrets for right now.

Not a house full just a small business. I know some people with far more ferrets then I have.

I barely figured out what it was 'ferret'
Do you keep them as pets or do you keep them for resale? As far as I could to inform, they are not cheap to maintain at all

We have 4 as pets. I don’t do resale of any animals. Actually they are pretty cheap to have as long as they are kept healthy. The price changes depending on your location and vet. Ours charges $80 for a visit which is way less then taking a dog. I’d they need shots it’s another $10 on top of that. We have a specia vet that does exotic

@ShyBear88 Interestingly, it would never occur to me to keep these animals as pets

@LowRiderX common as a pet in some places. Very easy to care for. I grew up with ferrets so maybe it’s just easier for me.

Quite an epic endeavor to wake up to. Lucky you didn't have to deal with all of them playing hide and seek like Sofie attempted to

Thankfully indeed. Lucky all of the traps where up. Earlier in the week we spotted a little field mouse. But since we caught one we haven’t seen another so I think we are good with no more mice.

@ShyBear88 I see that is why you thought a giant mouse when you first heard the sounds

@Helikaputo yep! We have some unwanted animals in our houses at times town house tend to get them since house shifts and there is a fire wall between other units. We once had a snake in the house.
